The man pulls out Javier, and I speak. "Leave him alone."
"Mind your own business, girl."
"He is my business."
I hear a police siren, and I look over at Clark.

Clark sets down Javier at our truck, and he looks up at him, shocked. "How'd you do that?"
"Javier, promise me you won't tell anybody about this."
"Don't worry. I've become an expert at keeping secrets," he assures him making me smile.
"Alright, let's go. Let's get you home.

As we're driving back to the farm, I speak. "You found her! Great, thanks." I hang up my phone. "That was Chloe. Your mom's on her way to my house right now."
"Oh, I can't believe it," he smiles. "After two years, I finally get to see her."
We keep driving when he looks over at us. "You never told me about Francisco, Callie, Clark." We're quiet. "Just tell me. Please."
"Javier, I'm sorry, but... he didn't make it," I sigh. "The sheriff ID'd his body. I know it's tough. I've lost people close to me, too. We both have."
"Stop the car."
"But, Javier, I..."
"Please, just stop the car," he repeats. Clark slows down before pulling over on the side of the road. Javier rushes out of the car, and I allow him. He runs past the sign that used to say "McNally Farm."
"Javier, stop! We have to get you out of here," I shout.
"I never should've brought Francisco with me," he sighs, before ripping off the necklace he's wearing. "Why didn't I give this to Francisco? If we hadn't tried to escape..."
"Javier, look at me," I say, turning him toward me. "You cannot blame yourself. It's not your fault. You were trying to help, and you did what you thought was right," I comfort. "Come on, let's get you to your mom.
Suddenly, the ground rumbles underneath us, and Clark is pulled under. "Clark," I gasp, looking around. "Javier, we need to go," I say, grabbing his arm and pulling him out of the field. I hear the ground rumbling behind us. "Run!"
However, I feel something grab my ankle, pulling me down. I exclaim in shock, and Javier stops. "Javier, get out of here!"
"I'm not leaving you," He shakes his head, as he keeps a firm grip on my hand.
Out of nowhere, someone is spit out of the ground. My ankle is released, and he helps me up. I look down to see McNally lying on the ground. I turn around to see Clark walking over to us. "Oh, thank God," I gasp, hugging him. I look down, before grabbing the necklace and standing back up. "Here," I say, placing it in his hand.
*at the farm*
I open the door, stepping aside. "Mama," Javier exclaims rushing toward his mom. She embraces him, and I smile.
"Javier," She says when she notices him covered in dirt and dust. "Are you okay? What happened?"
"Clark and Callie saved me," He says, looking back at us.
"Javier should get to a hospital and be checked out."
"No. We can't. No hospitals," Javier shakes his head.
"Hopefully, you won't have to worry about that anymore. I'm doing everything in my power to get your family legal status," Mom says.
"Mom, you can do that," I question, quietly.
"I'm working on it. I've been talking to Esperanza. Javier seems like an amazing boy. A boy I'd be proud to see as a citizen someday," Mom admits.
"Wh-what about your position on the Senate?"
"Sometimes, when you're dealing with extraordinary people... you need to take a risk. That's a lesson I learned from my son and daughter," she says making me smile.
