THE DROP IN TEMPERATURE sent chills down the girl's spine as she walked down the dimly lit corridor toward the dungeons. The week had passed by quite rapidly. Classes were in full swing, with professors assigning work with no hesitation. Finally, Sunday had arrived, and Jade had yet to speak to Daphne due to their rising workload.

When Jade arrived at the entrance to the Slytherin common room, she realized she had forgotten a key piece of information. She had agreed to meet Daphne in her dorm during a brief conversation in passing, but both girls had forgotten the security feature of the common room password.

"Fuck," Jade exclaimed, running a hand through her wavy, dark hair.

A voice spoke from behind her, and Jade flinched, startled as she had not realized she was not alone.

"What are you doing here?" Blaise asked her, unaware he had startled her.

Jade rolled her eyes at the boy who looked down at her, "Don't remember it being your business, Zabini."

Blaise feigned offence. "Oh, how you wound me, love. Now, are you going to tell me why you're standing in front of my common room, or will I have to make sure you don't step foot inside?"

The girl gave in, "I'm visiting Daph. Now let me in."

"Basilisk," Blaise said. The wall rumbled, revealing a passage to the Slytherin common room.

Jade stepped in front of him and made her way through the passage, dashing through the common room before any Slytherin could protest her presence.

To her annoyance, Blaise walked behind her, following her to Daphne's dorm. Jade huffed at him, but he seemed oblivious that he was less than wanted.

"Jade!" Daphne squealed, opening the door after having heard a knock.

"Sorry I'm late, someone here was being stingy with the password," Jade said, walking into her best friend's room while narrowing her eyes at the boy who still stood in the doorway.

A grin graced Blaise's face as if he was observing something rather amusing, "I always forget you two are friends."

"The best of friends," Daphne beamed as the two girls sat at the head of her bed, "now come in Blaise before Pansy returns."

Daphne was good friends with Blaise, Draco, Theodore Nott, and Pansy. Jade found Daphne's company appalling but never complained as she never kept any of them around whenever she talked to Jade. Now here Blaise was, lying at the foot of Daphne's bed while Jade shot him a murderous glare.

"Feisty this one," Blaise said to Daphne as if Jade couldn't hear him.

The remark earned him a flying pillow to his head. Jade grinned at the boy while Daphne tried not to double over in a fit of laughter.

"Is Zabini going to be here the whole time because if he is I might have to cast a silencing spell on him," Jade asked Daphne innocently.

"Jade, Theo kicked him out of their shared room so he can shag this Ravenclaw girl and Draco is off doing Merlin knows what. The least we can do is grace the boy with our presence." Daphne said, advocating for her friend.

"He is undeserving of such a gift." Jade scoffed, but her glare at the handsome boy softened, and she figured she might as well get accustomed to him.

Blaise, with a smirk that mirrored the devilish spark in his eyes, welcomed the challenge presented by Jade's fiery and attractive spirit. Her disdain seemed to only fuel the amusement dancing in his expression.
