Chapter 7 ( getting things tested for prints)

We then walked out of Alex's office and we walked to the elevator and we walked in, pushed the bottom floor button and the doors closed. We then reached the bottom floor and we walked out of the elevator and we walked out the side door to the tiny parking lot and we got into my car. I drove us to the building which took a bit to get there but thankfully we are moving to that building next week which I am super excited for since we won't have to drive back and forth from one building to the other building. Finally we reached the building and we parked and got out of the car and walked inside. We went to the morgue room and we walked up to the desk. We rung the bell that was on the desk and the doctor walked to the desk from the back room.
" Hello Captain and Detective, follow me please to the morgue room", the doctor stated.
We followed the doctor to the back room and we stood around the examine table with the dead victim on the table. The doctor then handed me and Alex a paper that had all the information for the autopsy report on the dead victim. On the paper it had : 1- cut marks from a 4 inch knife on both hands 2- a gun shot wound to the chest from a small pistol gun which was left at the crime scene where the murder took place. I forgot to get the wallet tested for finger prints and the gun that was left at the crime scene as well. The paper also had other information to about the victim mentioning that he was a owner of the Ice cream world shop below the Statue of Liberty.
I started to say.. " I did not know that the victim was an owner of the Ice cream world shop", I exclaimed.
" Yeah me neither", Alex exclaimed.
The doctor started to say... " yeah me too".
I continued to look down at the paper in my hands and so did Alex as well. I pulled out the file from my bag and I pulled out the note taking paper and I wrote some notes down from this paper and I put the paper in with the file along with the other papers I have in this case file.
" Thank you so much for letting us know Doc, I will be coming back later today because I need to get the victim's wallet tested for prints and the gun that was left at the crime scene too", I shouted.
" You are welcome Detective Alice and Captain Alex, I hope you are able to catch the killer that is on the loose soon", the Doc stated.
" Yeah we hope so too", thanks, bye have a great rest of your day doc", I exclaimed.
" you to, bye", the doc stated.
Me and Alex walked out of the room and out the door and walked to the elevator. We then walked out and walked past the secretary desk and out of the building. We got into the car and drove back to the police station. We got out of the car and we walked into the building together while holding each other's hands. We then went to our desks. I then placed my bag down and then I got up and walked to the back room to get the box that we placed this case stuff in so that I can go back to the building and get this stuff tested on. I then found the box and I took it down from the shelf and I carried it to my desk. I took the lid off and pulled out the bagged up wallet and the bagged up pistol gun from the crime scene. I then placed the items into my bag and then I put the card board lid back on the case box. I then pushed in my chair and I then put my bag around my shoulder and I walked into the Captain's office.
" hey, Alex, I am going to go to the other building to get the wallet and the gun tested for prints if that is ok?". I added.
" Hey sweetie, yeah that seems ok with me, have fun getting those tested, see you in a bit then", Alex stated with a smile on his face.
" Thanks, bye Alex".
" Bye sweetie, see you soon".
I then walked out of his office and then I walked to the elevator and walked into it. I clicked the bottom floor button and then the elevator stopped and the doors opened again. I then walked out and I walked through the side door and out to the parking lot. I then got into my car and I drove to the other building. Once I got to the building, I parked my car in the parking lot and I got out and I walked inside the building. I then went down the long hallway to room #145 for the processing lab. I walked inside and I walked up to the desk in the room. I walked up and I rung the little bell on the desk " ding, ding" the bell sounds echoed throughout the room. I waited for a minute when suddenly! Someone came over to the desk.
" Hello Detective Alice, how may I help you today?" , the person stated which I have met from the last case I was on which was the missing mirror case.
" Oh hi again, yeah I would like to get this wallet and this gun tested form prints if that is ok?", I stated.
" oh yeah of course we can get it tested for prints for you Detective Alice", the doctor exclaimed.
I then pulled out the two bagged up items and I placed them down on the desk. The doctor then looked at the items and typed on the computer and typed the wallet and the pistol gun into the computer on this case file so that it is registered into the system.
" Ok, you are all set, these types of tests might take a few days or so but, I will call you once we get the results back. Is that ok?", the doctor stated.
" good, yeah you can give me a call once you get the results back from the items, you still have the card I gave you?", I exclaimed.
" yeah I do", the doctor stated.
" great! See you in a few days then", I added with a smile on my face.
" ok sounds good, have a great rest of your day detective", the doctor exclaimed.
" thanks you too doc", I added.
I then walked out of the room and I went to the stairwell. I opened the door and I walked through it and went down 1 flight of stairs to the first floor where the secretary is. I then opened the stairwell's door and walked out, I past the secretary and I then went out the big doors. I then went to mar car and I got in and I drove back to the police station. A bit past, and I finally got back to the police station and I finally was able to sit down and be at my desk for a bit. I pulled out the case file from my bag and I placed it down on my desk, I then, opened a small drawer in my desk and I pulled out a pack of colored Tacky Notes and I ripped one off and placed the rest of the pack in the drawer and I closed it. I then grabbed a black pen and I wrote on the tacky note... " remember to get test results from the processing lab when the doc calls me". I then placed it on my computer as a reminder for me so that I can look at it every day until the doctor calls me.
