Imma go over with it and let you try to understand how i pictured this story years ago.
Lucy will be the future Queen of Dragons.
As so you know Igneel would be able to you know what, you know whom (For people who don't know I won't spoil this info for you) So there won't be a Chaos to trap the dragons in the realm.
When she meet her real father Lucifer, In that time... Lucy will start her time as an exorcist.
Btw lucy will wear and her scythe as a weapon (It can change appearance, I mean transform) Ps. Without the tail.
