His and Mine

The soft keys linger on the tips of my fingers as I gently press down and a sound erupts from within. The calming melody over-powering the dull low notes. Going up and down in pitch hearing the cries for him replaying in my mind. The piece expresses a story of emotion and horror in the key of C major and E minor. Accenting (Playing loudly) in bars 30-45, playing the chords loud, quick, and sharp to mirror what I felt not long ago, only six months ago. The silence is broken by an overflowing sound escaping, as if a dam of my sorrows has finally reached its limit. The shiny black brim surrounds the white keys as my foot pressed down on the silver peddle to join everything to one. Sitting on a small brown rectangular bench my heavy breathing is all I can hear like the world is so far away.

Playing continuously and never stopping like how my nights used to be, a constant loop, a constant reminder that will never fade. Slowing down the melody the lower pitch takes control of me. It haunts me. "please, I didn't mean for any of this to happen. You know I love you." "I love you." "Love you." "You." As the memory slowly fades away I change the speed I'm playing at to be slow but more dramatic. "You're the most beautiful person I've ever seen my entire life" Lower octave G chord, then F major, to D minor, my right hand playing the scale of C major descends to where my left hand used to play, the bass clef.

Nearly to the climax of the piece, my tempo starts to become allegro (fast) at a mezzo-forte volume (moderately loud volume). Using legato (a musical symbol/term) to join all the notes together. The complex sheet music is in front of my eyes. My eyes follow each note as I play. "You are my home, always and forever." The rhythm slowed down changing the key to E minor, my foot lift up from the peddle at the end of every bar disconnecting the notes like I was disconnected from him.

Staring into each other's eyes, love and warmth fill his eyes. Reaching the seven-minute mark of my piece, I stop playing, and silence once again fills the room. The only thing heard is my unsteady breathing which is barely audible, faint. "Mine, all mine," he whispered in my ear right before his eyes closed painfully slow. My right-hand starts playing at a piano (soft) volume using a crescendo (Gradually gets louder) to gradually get to fortissimo (very loud), then I stop. Eight minutes. My eyes slowly start closing. "I Love you," barely whispering. My left-hand starts playing the same as the right hand at a lower octave (Lower note), starting at fortissimo (very loud)to piano (soft). Then I stop. Nine minutes. My playing becomes quicker and louder. "how did you not know that I didn't love you? I've loved you from the distance. I don't know what I would do if I lost you." He says, desperation spreading across his face. "Never forget me! I'll never forget you!" Tears rolled down our faces. Ten minutes. The climax of my piece. "Ma'am, you are getting a call." Picking up the phone and placing it near my ear I say, "Hello?" Silence... "Hey, darling."

PLEASE READ!

Hi everyone,

this story was actually used in my English assessment, so I thought it would be something different for you all.

if there is any term that you don't know the meaning of, please comment on it and I will define it.

The story is about a girl playing piano about her love story with her first love, in this case, it's Shawn. Musical terms are used so don't stress if it doesn't make complete sense.

I hope you all enjoyed the story.
