Diavolo looked through her closet. Doppio had been ranting this morning about having her put on her favorite dress, so she decided to just go along with it. She loved her sister, and if that's what she wanted then sure. She took out her new dress. She had bought it recently and thought it'd be a good time to try it out. It was black, her signature style. The sleeves were long and lace with some sequins here and there. The bodice was silk, along with the rest of the dress with some beads and broaches for decoration. Everything came in one piece, so she had to put everything on in a certain order. She started with the bodice, lacing it up on the front and then moving it around so it was in the right spot. She then fixed the skirt on the bodice, zipping it up in the back. The sleeves went on nicely, and she buttoned the top piece to keep them from falling off her shoulders.
She looked in the mirror for a while, turning sideways for better angles. She smiled a bit and decided to show Doppio. Diavolo walked into the kitchen, immediately capturing the attention of her sister.
"Dia you look so beautiful!" Doppio all but jumped up and down at the sight. She was dressed up as well, it was little purple dress with frills on the sleeves and a bow on the waist.
"You're too kind, Doppi." Diavolo messed with a stray string in her skirt.
"What's all this for anyways?"
"You'll see! I'll be driving you there. Let's go!" Doppio took the keys and bolted out of the door, almost tripping over the rug.
Diavolo laughed at her flailing, then followed Doppio out the door and into the car.
"Put this on! I don't want you peeking." Doppio held out a sleeping mask. Diavolo took it, looking at Doppio suspiciously.
"Oh don't worry it's not for anything bad! I just don't want to ruin the surprise.."
"A surprise? Then I guess it'll be alright for a while." Diavolo smiled, and put the mask on.
A while had passed before the car engine went off and Diavolo was being poked in the shoulder.
"We're here! You can take the mask off now!"
Diavolo took the mask off slowly.
"Oh my I wonder what it is.." She took a moment to adjust her eyes to the light.
"Soo, what do you think!?" Doppio smiled at Diavolo, holding her hands out in a 'tadaa' position.
"Doppi this is.. amazing!" Diavolo gasped at the sight of the colorful banners. She caught herself and coughed for a moment, holding in the excitement.
"You're so sweet Doppi." She smiled and ruffled her sister's hair.
"I wanted to treat you to something special! You've been working hard lately so you deserve it." Doppio took Diavolo's hand and lead her into the building.
The two were greeted by the smell of paints and dust when they entered, though neither of them minded much. It just goes to show how old the pieces are. Doppio grabbed a map and handed it to Diavolo, then payed for special tickets. Diavolo looked around in awe. The walls were even painted with more modern art, and some statues were placed on pedestals near the desks. The floor was decorated as well, with a colorful tiled carpet. The click of Diavolo's heels were muted when she stepped onto it, not that it'd be very audible anyhow, with all of the people speaking. Doppio returned to her sister and handed a ticket to her.
"This is amazing." Diavolo smiled as she took the ticket.
"I knew you'd like it. You were always into art! Now where should we look first? They've got some pretty cool sculptures if you wanna check those out!" Doppio took the map and looked at the locations.
"Where would you like to start, Doppi?" Diavolo looked over Doppio's shoulder, eyeing the map.
"Oh no you don't! Tonight is for you so you get to choose." Doppio huffed, and pushed the map back into her sister's hands.
Diavolo grabbed it before it fell onto the floor and sighed. She checked where they were first, then looked at the nearest attraction.
"How about here then?" She pointed to a spot on the map marked 'Renaissance'.
Doppio nodded and took Diavolo's hand. "Let's go there then!"
They walked off together in the direction of the gallery.
A few hours of admiring art pieces made them tired and hungry. Ignoring Diavolo's protest, Doppio went and bought food for the two of them.
Doppio sat down next to her sister while she was eating and took a picture to capture the moment.
"Doppi! You know i hate having my picture taken-" Diavolo grabbed at Doppio's phone, aiming to delete it as soon as possible.
"No no! You look great in this one, pleasee!" Doppio pouted, moving her arm to keep the phone out of Diavolo's reach.
"Fine, but just this one." Diavolo surrendered, returning to eat her food.
Doppio smiled and put the phone away, beginning to eat as well.
It was dark out by this time, so they headed home as soon as they finished eating.
