                                                                                        Brooklyn

I was stuck in a cold, dark room. Trapped with my own misery. Gunshots bursted from the end of the room. I curiously went closer, wanting to know what happened. Bodies were scattered, pools of blood flowering from their chests. A cold, rough hand gripped my waist as I gasped and turned around to see a tall, muscular man with a square face.

"L-let me go" I screamed trying to break his hold only to have it tightened

My screams echoed off the walls, my face glistening with tears until he was done. I begged and pleaded to leave me alone, but each time I spoke, a knife was sliced over my bare skin. He left the room, leaving my on the floor  naked, helpless and broken.

I woke up with a gasp, as I looked around to see that it was my room I was in. Beads of cold sweat dripped down. I clicked on my phone to see the time, it was 4 in the morning. I slipped into the shower and changed. I opened my window, giving up on the thought of sleeping and started walking to the path that was mapped in my mind.

The cold wind pulled my hair, gently falling back down as I stared at London. The little lights that twinkled from the ant-like buildings. I pulled my battered copy of Pride and Prejudice and propped it up on my lap, flicking at the pages to find where I stopped. A small circle of yellow light crept from the clouds. I put my book down, marking the page I stopped at and went from my small corner to the railing. A few minutes passed until footsteps climbed up the stairwell. I turned around, startled. A pair of green eyes glanced at me until he came closer now standing beside me looking at the sun rising.

"Couldn't sleep?" I asked wanting to strike conversation

He ignored my attempt, as if I didn't exist. The warmth in his eyes were replaced with a cold fog.

"Okay, ignoring me, that's fine" I said trying not to sound upset as I turned around and looked at the sun rising.

"Did I do something?" I said, breaking the long silence

"The only thing you could do is leave me alone, your family disgusts me. You should be ashamed to even look at me" He barked harshly

"Look, I'm not responsible for my father's act of sins" I replied, blocking the tears

"You're all the same, god you're all just vermin. Who it is doesn't matter as long as his blood is in your veins"

"I'm not James" I said softly "Your right, we shouldn't be talking" I added, turning around, snatching my book and leaving before he would see me cry.

As soon as I stepped out from the small room. I burst into tears. I sunk down onto a stair. I heard him coming down, probably to see me cry because of him. I wiped off the tears and got up about to leave.

"Wait-" he said, his voice sincere

"What Vaughn!" I croaked, trying to sound harsh

"I'm sorry"

"Sorry for what. Shouldn't you be happy that you hurt my feelings, I'm just like James right?" I screamed

"No, it's not-"

"Save it" I said, storming off

By the time I got home, the sun was fully up. I sneaked in through my window and went downstairs for breakfast. Everyone was still asleep since it was only 5.30. I fished in the pantry room and started cooking.

"Brooklyn?" Rosa said coming in the dining room

"Good morning" I said giving her a warm smile

"You already made your food" She asked shocked
