Vaughn
"I guess we have the same favorite" I said
Her blonde hair floated in the wind as she gazed out. The rose was still in her hair, surprisingly still there after our bike race. She's made me do things I'd laugh at today. I couldn't say no.
"Yeah, I'm still concerned why you force yourself to drink dirt water every morning" I snorted
"Hey, it's coffee" She said dabbing ice cream on my nose with her finger
"Game on" I said reading to take the whole cone
"Ok that's not fair" She giggled as it came closer to her face
"Vaughn!" She screamed still laughing
"Fine" I said taking it away with a smug look on my face
By the time we got to the apartment, it was already 3. I dropped her by her door and left with a guilty feeling. I drove to my parents' house where mum and dad were walking in the garden with Max on their heels with his tongue sticking out.
He ran towards me as I got down from my car, followed by mum and dad. We walked back inside with Max technically glued to me. I couldn't bring him to my apartment since I wasn't there the whole day and he was happy with mum and dad.
"Did you see the news?" Dad asked as we sat down at the couch
"No, why"
He pulled out an article that was on the couch and showed it to me.
"London's biggest gang leader found strangled and shot twice and all his men dead" He said summarizing the article
"Impressive" He said patting me on the back
"He was easy, 5 minutes maximum, I told you, and he's all bark and no bite"
"Good because he's been causing us problems"
That was only half the reason I killed him, the other half was fully personal
We stopped talking when mum came in, holding a tray of pastries
"Your favorite" Said mum cheerfully, setting them down
"Thanks" I said taking one
"What's with the change of mood?" She asked me
"Yeah, last time you came you were like this as well" Added dad
"Nothing" I replied brushing it off
"You can tell us honey" Edged mum
"Mum, it's nothing" I said, knowing if I said I was with their rivals daughter, I would be 6 feet under
"Ok, I'll leave it for now"
"I have to go now, I agreed to meet up with Conan and Mateo" I said checking the time
"He's in town?" Dad asked
"Yeah he just flew in"
"I haven't seen him in a while, you should invite him to dinner sometime, and the girl you're seeing" She added
"I'm not seeing anyone" I groaned
"We just want you to be happy, and who she is doesn't matter" Said dad, earning a smile from mum
Who she is doesn't matter unless she's a Bennett I said in my mind
"I'll come by soon" I said getting up
