                                                                                       Vaughn

Her eyes lit up as her eyes roamed around the little house that had plants growing everywhere. It wasn't as big as my apartment, but from the look on her face I could tell that she wanted that exactly. The house was almost all dark wood and glass with large wooden doors that would almost touch the glass pane on the first floor. There was a small water feature with a pond, rimmed with black stones as it opened to the living room that had a small white couch and a flat screen TV, opposite the TV a large glass door showed the moonlit beach, calmly rolling over each wave. A large, polished wooden table sat with a vase holding flowers with only 2 chairs. There were 2 bathrooms and a large bedroom upstairs, the bedroom facing the beach that was at the back of the house and opening a small passage through the bushes to Elena's back yard.

"It's yours" I said softly, handing her keys

"Ours" She corrected, giving the key back to me

"You didn't have to get a whole house for me Vaughn"

"You deserve a castle Brooke" I replied, softly placing a kiss on her cheek

The bright sunshine of Spain lit up the room, reaching hallway up our blanket as I was tracing circles on Brooklyn's back as she was peacefully dozed off, her makeup slightly smudged- that was how I loved her. She was perfect even asleep; unaware of the impact she has made on me. She was the ray of sunshine in my dark, twisted world. We are here now because she never gave up on me, even if I didn't deserve her forgiveness, she gave it to me, adding value to it every time she pulls me into her arms and makes me forget I'm on earth. We are so far ahead and I'd never let her go, not now when she's all I have.

"What's on your mind?" A soft melody of a voice asked me, pulling me from my train of thoughts

"I was just thinking" I answered

"Of?"

"How you're too good for me yet I'm too selfish" I chuckled

"Then keep being selfish" She said, tracing one of my tattoos with her nail

"What does 'Falx' mean?" She asked me while tracing the word that was inked on my stomach, breaking the silence that was filled by the rolling waves of the beach

"Means Falcon in Latin" I replied, remembering it as the first tattoo I got, the one I hid from my parents when I was 15

"It describes you well" She smiled

We forced ourselves out of bed, getting ready while going over our plans for today; Brooklyn still half asleep until she stepped out of the house, hand in hand down the little brick path that connected to Elena's house.

Evie was in the backyard, with dad and Jake running around with her, Max with his tongue hanging out of his mouth. Not until we were coming up to them did they notice our presence as Evie ran towards me happily, jumping into my arms

"I missed you Evie" I said, lifting her up

"Who is she" Evie signed, nudging towards Brooklyn

"I'm Brooklyn" She signed back, leaving me surprised that she knew how to use sign language.

I set Evie down as Brooklyn got down to her level, introducing themselves in sign.

"Finally planning to settle down" Jake said, giving me a handshake
