Chap 10: Lock In

At the Meltdowner Squads base...

"Hamazura, did you get what I asked?"

A familiar dominating tone asked, it was the 4th Ranked Level 5, Mugino Shizuri. The Meltdowner, she was calling to her underling, Hamazura Shiage.

"Yeah yeah- Milk, lettuce, pork chop, and noodles-"

Hamazura began listing off what he got, before a loud yell cut him off.

"The other stuff! Dumbass, not that tasteless food..."

She let out a sigh, rubbing her head. She was a pretty stressed out person, she had just received word she had to fight the 2nd Rank to protect Academy City.

"Oh that, yeah I gotcha. Riiiiight here!"

Hamazura leaned out into the open hallway through the door, he pulled  a normal sized briefcase through said door. He handed it to Mugino, wondering what were in its contents.

"Finally, thanks Hamazura you can get out of my sight now. Also go send a text to Frenda, I need to rip her a new one for sneaking out on our missions."

Hamazura simply worriedly nodded before slipping out of the room like a cartoon character.

Mugino opened the briefcase, revealing a set of two gloves. Each with the same prisms she used before to extend her versatility of her Meltdowner beams. With these, she can now change the directions of her Meltdowner beams and likely control them better.

"Perfect..."

In the alleyways of Academy City...

Accelerator, the strongest Esper... he was heading through the same alleyways he brutally murdered the Sisters in. Though this didn't disturb him too much since he didn't recognize it, I mean it's an alleyway.

"That bastard, I slammed him to itty bitty bits in our fight... how the hell is he alive. What am I asking, I need to think. He's saving Academy City for last since this shithole holds his original organs... it has to be in some extremely secret Research lab that I'm unaware of. I checked all of the old ones, and found nothing... I have all the control over Academy City I need but I can't find one lab... DAMN IT!"

Accelerator slammed his hand against the alleyway wall, a loud thud echoing out. Suddenly though, Accelerator felt a sharp pain in his chest. He felt some liquid dripping out of his mouth and his white jacket was getting stained. He looked down, and saw a white knife looking thing running through him.

"What-"

It got pulled out and he leaned over, coughing up blood. He moved his left hand to activate his electrode, but that got a white feather shot into it. His open hand pinned to the wall by the sharp feather.

He turned around, to see him. Kakine Teitoku, he was there. He looked normal, besides the fact his body was all white and his eyes were black and red.

"Hey Number One Bastard, thought you could find me? Well that's too bad, the roles are turned. You think I don't remember our last little scuffle? Those black damn wings, you humiliated me so now I'm going to kill you. I'm not letting you activate your ability, and I'm leaving you to die here. I've gone through some old footage using this new ability I've got. I can see old events like watching a CD player with my Dark Matter, so I went through the footage of you killing Amata and against the other Angel. Hell even against the Level 0, they only come out if you can't reflect something. Aka they only come out if your ability is up and you are trying to reflect something you don't know about. Surprise attacks when your ability is off won't activate it, well... see ya."

The white Substance had breached Academy City, and now it vanished from Accelerator's line of sight.

"Fuck... is... this the... end? Sorry... brat, I wished... I could have spent... more time, with you...."

Accelerator fell on the ground, his left hand ripping open from his momentum on falling to the ground. Blood pooling around his body as... he died.

All Accelerator saw in his eyes, was a weird looking tail and some pinkish feet... as he closed his eyes for the last time. Must have been him hallucinating.

Back at the park in Academy City...

Kamijou, Mikoto, Saten, Uiharu, and Kuroko we're all on their way to the park to meet with Misaka Misuzu, and Touma's parents for a picnic.

Touma was thinking about what Misaka said about apologizing to him. He lost his memories a bit ago, anything about himself or anybody was gone before then. Because of this he also was a blank slate, personality wise.

He thought a lot of irregular things were normal, one of them being getting shocked by lightning if he said something bad. He didn't think of it as a bad thing, but the way she apologized he put it into perspective.

'I mean... that's definitely not normal. Did the Old me not like that? He must've not, I'm glad she apologized though... she probably doesn't think about what she's doing when she gets like that so I can't blame her.'

The group were a couple minutes away from getting to the park, Uiharu was playing on her phone and Shirai was walking ahead just to make sure everything was alright. She is Judgement after all, though she was also making a wedge between Misaka and Touma so they didn't interact with each other much.

Though, their little enjoyable moment was cut short. Cut short very considerably as all the screens in Academy City changed channels to the breaking news.

On the TV:

We have come to inform you all of breaking news. The Former Chairman of Academy City, and Strongest Level 5, Accelerator. Accelerator has been presumed to be dead, more news on that in a minute.

They showed a picture of Accelerator's face, not only was this broadcasted to Academy City, but the entire world. Everybody's face was in shock, even Misaka's. The Sisters felt sad, and Last Order was crying. Yomikawa and Yoshikawa were put into a depressed mood at the news, Touma... didn't know how to feel.

He just felt bad, he thought maybe Accelerator was finally at peace now. But at the same time what about the sisters?

"W-What-"

Then, all the Level 5's and everybody involved in the Kakine Teitoku battle that was supposed to happen in 2 weeks time was alerted. The text said the following.

'Emergency warning, Kakine Teitoku has already infiltrated Academy City and begun his destruction. He seems to have figured us out and read us like a book, he may have other allies with him so be wary. The goal is to move him away from the crowded areas and into 'Strange'.'

As they got this text Academy City had another message talking about it and how they were locking down all the entrances and exits... this wasn't going to be good.

P.S. Sorry for the shorter chapter, probably my shortest yet. Anyway happy 500 reads woohoo, I was thinking about if I should do a 500 reads special and thought that you guys could come up with the event that's happening in it for me to write out. Anyway hope you enjoy y'all's days!
