"Again."
"Sir, I'm trying! I really am!"
"I said again!"
Tears ran down the seven year old's face as the scientist in front of her scolded her.
She hated this.
She wanted to go home. Even if home didn't want her.
She closed her eyes and shook her head no.
This only pissed off the scientist even more.
The young girl was already a mess. Her nose was bloody. Her auburn hair was tangled and knotted. And her hazel eyes clouded and dark.
"Alright, that's it." He grabbed the baton from his belt and flipped a switch. Causing the taser to light up with electricity. He brought it to her side with a harsh jab.
She convulsed and withered, falling off the chair and onto the floor. Her tightened muscles made it nearly impossible for her scream.
She hated this.
She hated the scientists. She hated the small cell she was kept it. She hated how they made her feel.
She closed her eyes and screamed.
The energy that surged through her body, the endless pressure she endured, it was all too much. She hated this, and she did not want to deal with this any longer.
The room exploded into a ball of lightning. It killed the man that tortured her endlessly and took out the power in the entire facility.
It was all too much for her. Despite everything around being destroyed and an escape 100% possible, she sat in the corner of what was left of the cell. She curled up again and cried. She just cried.
No one knew how long she sat there for. She didn't know either. But by the time Dr Brenner was called in by the police, she was fast asleep. The Doctor had to carry her in his arms.
She stirred and was startled by the situation she was in.
"Sh. Sh. Amelia. You are safe now. You are safe." Dr Brenner cooed her. "I promise."
His voice lulled her to back to sleep. Safe in the protection of her new guardian.
