"Ready?" Dr Brenner's voice came through the speakers with a bit of feedback that made Amelia cringe.

"No, but let's just get this over with," Amelia said, tying a blindfold over her eyes.

Amelia had been tasked with her hardest test yet. Mind control.

With the realization that she could affect and manipulate human emotion, Dr Brenner wanted to try something harder.

"Are you sure she should do this? She only woke up a few days ago." Peter stated, voicing his concern about the whole situation.

Dr Brenner waved his concern off, "She will be fine, I know it."

But Peter couldn't shake the uneasy feeling. There was nothing he could do though, he could only watch.

"Ok, Amelia, go ahead." Dr Brenner said into the microphone.

Amelia sat crisscrossed on top of the table, her reasoning was because she had to do this, and relaxed.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Relax...

Dr Brenner and Peter Ballard watched as her tense figure melted away. Quiet hums came from Amelia as she focused on getting to the darkspace.

Amelia's eyes opened and she reached to take off her blindfold.

Darkness surrounded her in an endless void of black. She stood up and turned slowly to make sure she was fully in the darkscape.

"I'm ready." Her voice echoed back to her. I'm ready...

Dr Brenner looked at her brainwaves for a moment to make sure she was stable. "Ok, you are looking for an Orderly by the name of Charles. Can you find him?"

"Charles?" Amelia paused her leisurely stroll to think for a moment. Did she know a Charles? "Oh the ginger... one second please."

Peter held back a smile as he watch from the back of the observation room.

Charles, whom Amelia "lovingly" nicknamed ginger, was sitting in a room she had never seen before. She assumed it was a cafeteria of some sorts considering he was drinking a coffee. Amelia hates coffee.

"I see him." Amelia mumbled. "Does he know we are doing this?"

"Irrelevent. Amelia can you see what he sees?"

"You want me to go into his mind? Even though he doesn't know we are doing this?" Amelia said, watching the innocent man drink his café.

"Amelia, if he were in on it the experiment would be ruined." Dr Brenner reasoned, even though it was probably illegal.

Amelia sighed. "Right, ok. I'll try to go into his mind."

Amelia's body slumped lower. Blood kept dripping down her chin.

She was now was almost unable to communicate with the outside world. This concerned Peter but he kept quiet, now wanting to disturb Amelia or the test that was currently taking place.

Then, suddenly, Amelia's whole body went limp. It hit the table with a thud.

"Amelia!?" Peter pushed himself off the wall he was leaning on and started towards the door. Dr Brenner raised his hand and held Peter back.

"Peter no, wait, we need to see what happens."

"You are going to kill her!" Peter snapped and pointed to the girl on the table.

Dr Brenner shook his head. "She wouldn't have agreed to this if she didn't think she could handle it. She knows her own limits."

Peter wanted to glare at Dr Brenner but he knew that would get him nowhere. So he went back to where he was standing before she collapsed.

"My body feels weird..."

Amelias voice rang out through the speaker system. The speaker system connected to the alarm system.

Dr Brenner looked up and around. 'Facinating.' He thought.

"Amelia, what do you mean?" Dr Brenner spoke up finally.

"I feel fuzzy. Tingly. Like pins and needles." Amelia's vision snapped back to life. At least she thought it was her vision.

But she was not in her own body... not anymore. "Woah."

"I think I'm in his body."

"Really?" De Brenner asked.

"Not actually, I am just taking up a part of him. I am not in control, he is still awake. I can't move, he is moving me." 'Stupid Ginger, stop moving.'

"Okay Amelia, I am going to give you a set of words. A phrase, if you will. I want you to make him write it down." Dr Brenner said through the microphone.

"Gosh, this was a bad idea. I can hear his thoughts."

Peter smiled and Dr Brenner laughed. "Are you ready, Amelia?"

"Hit me, not actually though, I dont think my body is upright anymore."

She was nervous, Peter could hear it in her voice.

"The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."

Amelia felt a pressure in his mind. She needed something she could latch onto, anything. The pressure swelled and she could feel every neuron fire and receive.

His energy was pulled and contorted until Amelia figuratively choked him to gain control.

To Charles, it just felt like he was passing out. Amelia got the front seat almost immediately.

To check if she had control, she picked up the coffee and threw it across the room. Thank god no one was there otherwise she would have been screwed.

"Oh my god."

"Amelia? Is everything ok?" Dr Brenner asked with a hint of concern in his voice.

Amelia laughed. "I am never doing anything ever again." She said. She made Charles grab a napkin and the pen in his breast pocket. She then made him write down the phrase and then immediatly felt dizzy.

Before she severed the connection she implanted a thought into his mind. 'Give this to Dr Brenner, now. Observation Room 22.'

Amelia's body started to jerk and seize. She had pushed past her max by dix fois. Her journey back to her body was brutal. She had to practically force herself to wake up. She felt a jolt and electricity course through her body

When she finally came to, Peter was practically screaming her name, and shaking her, begging for her to come back. Doctors were surrounding her charging the defibrillator for another shock.

"Shes back. She's awake." Peter said and immediately engulfed Amelia in a hug. "Jesus, Melia. Never do that again."

Amelia laughed into the hug and embraced him back. "No promises." She said then coughed up some blood, quickly shrugging it off.

Dr Brenner gave Peter a weird look before checking Amelia's pulse to make sure that in fact she was stable.

While all this commotion was happening, a knock rang out through the room.

"Hey, I think that you should get that." Amelia said to her father.

Dr Brenner left his daughters side to open the door. There stood Charles with his napkin.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I needed to give this to you." The Orderly handed the doctor his note and left.

"Thank you Charles." Dr Brenner said confused. He closed the door and opened the neatly folded napkin.

Dr Brenner stood still as he read the phrase on the napkin.

"You did it Amelia, you really did it." Dr Brenner said, holding up the napkin with the words, 'The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.'
