I survive by crying out my pain
I survive by keeping my anger to myself
I survive by closing my heart to everyone
And I survive by loving you in silence
I survive by walking away from problems
I survive by standing up for my rights
I survive by screaming who I am
And I survive by loving you from afar
I survive by dancing under the rain
I survive by reading those old fashioned books
I survive by singing my dearest songs
And I survive by loving you in the night
I survive by counting the stars
I survive by traveling around the world
I survive by hugging my friends
And I survive by loving you in my darkest days
I survive by praising my family
I survive by putting my soul at peace
I survive by hoping to die soon
And I survive by loving your soul wrapped in mine
I survive by smiling when my chest hurts
I survive by acting normal
I survive by fighting for equality
And I survive by loving you until my last breath.Standing in my door
You are worried about me
Crying all day long
Because I can't open up
But if you could just look at me
You'll see how bad I want
To sink into your eyes
Touching your lips
Putting your arms around my waist
And slowly whispering to your spirit
That I'm yours in every way
Saying it out loud
Would put an end to my silent suffering
My tears will dry
And depending on the weight of your words
I may be happy
Or I may be lost in life
If you could only read my mind
You won't be asking me
Why am I so sad anymore
Is the hidden feeling that's kicking me
And the fear of you not caring about me
After all, we are friends
But what if we could be even more?
Take a moment to look at my eyes
And when you do, smile at me
So I'll know when to kiss you
Right before you stop
Standing at my door.
