Chapter 09: Sharp Shrug

It's Friday in the morning, and Akanika can finally relaxed because it is the final day of the weekends. And also, she successfully overcome her weaknesses towards Takeroshi. For the past few days, Takeroshi tried to talk and befriend with her. As soon as possible, Akanika attempts to run in the hallway, stayed at the Karate Club whose members were utterly hated Takeroshi, and jumped out the window with an escape rope when she was being cornered in the corner. The other one was using Suzaki and her friends as her shield. She knew that he couldn't move towards her when some girls were beside her. Especially, the girls who idolized and totally obsessed with him.

Akanika though in her mind, "Haha, Takeroshi-senpai. There is no other way to catch up with me. Surrender and give up now. I always have a strategy to make it easy for me. In other words, there are no hope for you to be friends with me. Haha."

In the top floor of the second building, Takeroshi was watching her by using his binocular. He felt irritated and mad when he saw her laughing. He knew that she was thinking and laughing at him. He leant himself against the wall to get a rest.

Takeroshi murmured and sighed, "Tsk, I guess I should consider my defeat. Definitely, there is no hope to talk and become her friend. She didn't reply to my texts, calls and emails. She always run away from me and when I corner her, she jumped out the window" sighed and he sneezed. "Darn it, I think I overdo myself. That's too bad for me. Tsk, she is a kind of person who has a sharp tongue and pettish behavior. A person who doesn't show any interest to a boy especially to me. Haha, why I was always insisting myself often to her. She is so selfish and hard to get. Oh well, I surrender now. I guess I should do the same way she always does to me." He felt sad and grief. He walked towards the door and went down the stairs.

Few hours has passed, and it was the time for lunch. Akanika walked closely while grasping the shoulder of Suzaki. She always looked carefully for the next attempt of Takeroshi. As she continues her observation and precaution, she felt something different today. She was wondering where is Takeroshi in this time.

Akanika asked with a lowly voice, "Huh? Where is he today? He should be here to catch up with me, but he is not around this time. Why is he not bothering me?"

Suzaki heard what she said. She said, "Maybe, he surrendered from you because you're always avoiding him for almost a week. Oh Akanika-chan, you're so rude."

"Eh? Are you sure that man is just like that?! He is not a kind of person who will give up with me." she said with a shrug.

"Haha, oh really. Why are you defending him right now? It's a good news for you because he finally gave up. And also, he will never chase and disturb you for the rest of your school life. Oh, come to think of it. Are you sad about it?" Suzaki said

Akanika felt annoyed and irritated, "Of course not, I'm happy about it." And her face turned to be sad.

Suzaki noticed it, and she asked, "Are you sure about that? You look gloomy and upset."

Akanika felt embarrassed and mad at what she said. She replied, "I'm hungry, let's go now and get some meals." And she walked towards the counter angrily.

As the time has passed, Akanika felt uncomfortable and thinking about the situation of Takeroshi. She looked at the window, and she sighed. She held her notebook and drew his face like a monster.

"Why is he like that? He gave up already from me. I just testing him and playing around. Oh, I just thinking about it, maybe it was part of his tactics too. Oh well, well, well. Do you really think you can catch me like that? I'm always coming up with ideas." she said.

As the class have ended and the students on their way home, Akanika walked together with Suzaki. Akanika forgot her English notebook on her desk, she quickly told her to wait at the gate. She runs in the hallway, up the stairs, went to their room and picked her notebook. When she closed the door, she saw Takeroshi carrying a box of documents.

She follows him wherever he goes. Finally, Takeroshi came from his destination. It was the principal office. When he entered the office, Akanika immediately runs near the door. She hides herself covertly.

"Oh, my boy. How are you doing? Thank you for bringing me this documents. You're such a good boy." The principal greeted him

"Haha, I'm always like this, principal. Could I pleased to go home now?" Takeroshi asked from him.

"Absolutely, but young master. You should go back now in America. You're parents were looking for you. Since your first day in your last year in the middle school." the principal spoke with him.

Akanika was wondering for a reason, why is the principal of the school called him master instead of using his own name.
