14. (Rights and Rules)

Making all the people sleep, the queen went to her room. When she entered her room, a man was standing near the window, in a silk royal outfit. At the sound of closing the door he turned around and smiled seeing the queen.

You: You should really go to your room now, Tom.

Tom: You're coming from that closed room, right?

The smile on her face vanished and she looked down. Tom came near her and held her softly by her shoulders. Not forgetting the decent distance. He bent down a little and tried to look in her eyes. When she didn't make eye contact, he put his finger under her chin and softly lifted her head upwards.

It was nothing surprising that she had tears in her eyes.

Tom: How many times should I tell you that don't re-visit the memories for now, Y/N. I told you not to make that room, yet you did and did not even listen to me.

He calmed down instantly when he saw her mouthing him a silent "sorry". He chuckled and wiped her tears. Consoling her a little more, he left for his room. Later, Y/N also slept.

Next Morning:

Having a nice morning was a good thinking. With this thought, the Raven family got up with the chirping of birds. Y/N did her routine and skin care. When she opened her door, she was greeted by a smiling Jason.

She smiled back at him and they both went to the breakfast table. Everyone took their seats. First Rachel followed by Tom and Y/N. Later they were joined by Jacob and Melina. Soon breakfast was served and everyone started eating.

But there was something off. When Jacob turned to Melina, she was looking a little upset. He asked her the reason and she looked up at him and then everyone. All were waiting for her answer.

Melina: No, actually... this palace's servants are dedicated to Y/N only.

After listening to this, Rachel continued with her breakfast. Y/N chuckled a bit, when the queen lifted her head from the plate, Melina was already looking at her expecting an answer. She put her spoon down after taking the last bite and wiping her mouth she finally spoke

You: Mom, I think you should learn to adjust if it's someone else's place.

Jacob and Jason stopped eating while listening to this. Jacob slammed his hands on the table and stood up, Jason's eyes widened. He shouted

Jacob: You should be within your limit's girl!!

Y/N snickered at the comment. Jacob raised his brow at that and Y/N's expressions changed within a second. She leaned back in her chair and answered

You: Father, why are you all hyped up? If a girl can handle a kingdom that's double the size than yours then can't you adjust for some time in your soon to be daughter-in-law's palace.

Jacob's expressions remained of anger but his lips parted a little. Y/N leaned forward and spoke again

You: Now, Mr. Walton, next time remember to keep your voice down or you can see my security arrangement. This time Tom stopped them but next time they'll throw you all three out.

Jacob was about to shout again but Y/N showed him a hand in the face and stopped him from speaking further. She turned her head to Melina.

You: Mrs. Walton, what I said was no wrong. This is my palace and hence no choice but the workers and servants had to listen to me and no one else. If you still want to do, live or eat of your choice, you can bring servants from your dynasty. And what did they not listen to?

They all were shocked seeing this kind of behaviour from Y/N. She didn't shout a word and zipped everyone's mouth. Rachel was also done with her food. Y/N was still looking at Melina for the answer.

Melina: I asked one of your servants to open a locked door.

You: There are so many locked doors in my palace, mom. Which one?

Melina's eyes wavered a bit but then she spoke again

Melina: The one which has a red coloured door.

Listening to this Y/N's eyebrows clashed and eyes became red in anger. All her expression vanished and only anger was visible, pure anger. She looked into Melina's eyes again and shouted a servant's name.

You: BILL!!

Soon the servant entered the hall terrified of her owner's voice. He bowed in respect to her and stood with a face looking down at his feet.

You: I want a guard at the red locked door. The door should not open at any cost. Understood?

Bill: Yes, your highness.

With that he left the hall. When he exited, Y/N stood up on her chair, making the rest stand too. She kept the palm of her hand attached to the table and leaned towards Melina.

You: How dare you order my servant to open that door without my permission? Everyone has some rules and restrictions in their place. Next time if you do anything without my permission here, my legal court will see you.

Jacob: YOU-

You: Mr. Walton! Keep your voice down. You have to follow my rules and some restrictions. Otherwise, the door is always open, you can take your son and wife and leave. I'll not get affected even a little by not doing this marriage.

Saying this to their face, the queen started to walk off. Soon she was stopped by Melina's voice. She turned her heels making everyone stop again.

Melina: We didn't mean-

You: If you guys didn't mean anything wrong, then please leave for your rooms peacefully. We'll hopefully have a peaceful lunch together.
