"Y/N."

You closed your eyes, steadying your breath as you tried your absolute hardest not to give your favorite spider boy the verbal telling off of his lifetime.

Miles huffed at your continued silence, he had been trying to pull you away from your reading for the past twenty minutes to no avail.

It was beautiful that morning. After a week of non-stop downpours, it was finally nice enough to enjoy the springtime air and sit out in the grass.

Which is exactly what Miles had planned when he invited you out. He'd been trying to turn up the charm on you for weeks now, but never felt like the timing was right.

Ganke had brought up that maybe he was being too vague about his true feelings for you.

Sure, he might have coined you into it by telling you he'd help with your studying for your upcoming final. But that didn't mean you had to spend all of your time studying, he just wanted a little bit of your attention.

"Y/N, if you keep ignoring me, I'll be forced to do something very drastic."

You had confined yourself to ignore him, eyes intently scanning the words of your microbiology textbook. But
truthfully, you had long stopped retaining anything you were reading.

But it's not like you were gonna give him the satisfaction
of knowing that.

"Alright, I didn't want to do this, but you've forced my
hand."

Suddenly, you saw a web latch onto the front of the textbook and it promptly shot right out of your hands. "Miles!" You leaned your head back to frown at him.

He was looking down at you with the brightest smile as he held out your book.

"Need something?"

Truthfully, you had no idea how he was still hanging upside down from the one branch of the tree.

"We came out here to study."

Miles chuckled, handing the book back to you. "It's too nice out to study, live a little."

"It was your idea in the first place."

He laughed again, "When did you start listening to me?" You looked at him with a deadpan expression, but it quickly bloomed into a chuckle.

"Touchè."

Miles attached a web to one of the higher branches and slowly lowered himself down to you.

You had already started taking notes again, and he had tried to read them. But being upside down made it hard to really focus on any of it.

So instead, he reached out to poke your cheek. You turned your head to give him a small warning look.

"What are you doing now?"

The smile he gave you was all teeth and that sweet charm you'd come to adore. "Just restless energy, I always get like this when it's nice out."

You sighed, looking over at him. "Go run around for a bit then."

*But I wanna hang out with you!" He countered, pulling
himself back up into the branches of the trees.

It was silent again, you could hear the wind rustle through the leaves and you let out a small sigh. Maybe you could actually get some more studying done.

But just as soon as that idea hit, a giant swarm of bright green leaves plopped from above and got all over your
textbook.

"Miles!" You shouted, looking up at his cheeky smile with a forced frown.

In truth, you found it quite funny. But seeing his smug face struck up a challenge in you, "You should really stop testing my patience."

Miles propped his chin in his hand as he raised an eyebrow.

"Or what?"

You could tell he was about to lower himself again, he was relentless in his desire to annoy you today. But this time, you were determined to get the last laugh. You tilted your head backward just in time to promptly land a kiss on the tip of his nose, topped off with a dramatic "mwah."

You saw the way his eyes nearly shot out of his head and it made you pull away and laugh. Miles, however, was so taken back he lost his grip on his web and fell over right in front of you.

"What was that!" His face felt like it was about to burst
into flames, and it didn't help that he had let out a high
pitched screech when he fell.

"That isn't fair!"

"No, it isn't. But I warned you," You looked at him with a smile as you placed your textbook to the side. "You look a little frazzled, is the heat getting to you? Maybe we should take a break."

Miles had to let his brain register how to formulate a cognitive sentence before he spoke again. He slid over to sit next to you and smoothly placed his arm over your shoulder, trying to cover for the fact that it felt like his heart was going to burst.

"Sounds good to me, love."
