My Punishment

When we got home that afternoon, Michael was about to kill me. Michael wouldn't let me talk to anyone and he threw me into a dark closet.

"This is your punishment," Michael said as he closed the door and locked it. "You're to stay in here until I let you out whenever I decide to."

"What if I have to go to the bathroom or get hungry?" I asked as I tried to open the door.

"There a bucket in there for you to use the bathroom," Michael explained. "And there's some protein bars and water in there."

"Michael!" I cried. "You're being mean!"

"You should've obeyed," Michael said as he started to walk away.

I tried calling for Michael for about 5 minutes before I finally stopped. It was about 3 PM and I knew wasn't going to let me out until at least nightfall. I was getting bored with just sitting in the dark closet and I wasn't a fan of how cramped it was. I was smaller, so it wasn't that bad, but if Michael were to be in here instead, he would hardly have any room. I forgot that I hadn't gone to the bathroom at all today and I needed to go, but I didn't want to go in the bucket. I tried to knock on the door again, but there was no response. I waited for about 10 more minutes before I couldn't hold it anymore.

I felt ashamed and embarrassed after going. I didn't want to see Michael's face after he realized that I went to the bathroom in the bucket. I just sat up against the door and tried to listen for someone talking. I couldn't hear anyone talking, but I did hear someone playing the violin. I started to fall asleep to the sweet sound.

When I woke up, I didn't know how much time went by, but the closet was a lot colder than I remember it being. Because of the terrorist attack earlier, Michael took my trench coat so that he could clean it. All I had on was a button-down shirt and pants. The shirt was thin so it felt like the cold air was just hitting my chest.

I was hungry, so I ate the protein bar, but it didn't help with anything. I knocked on the door softly, hoping that someone was there. When I knocked, the door felt like something was leaning up against it, so I didn't know if someone was leaning up against it, or if Michael had put something in front of the door so that Dina or Lily wouldn't let me out.

"Michael," I whispered as I placed my head on the door. "It's cold and I'm hungry. The protein bar didn't help. I'm cramped and tired. Please Michael, let me out."

There was no response.

I ended up standing up so that I could stretch, but when I sat back down, I laid up against the wall, opposite the door. I placed my head on the ground and curled up in a ball, hoping to get warm. I watched under the door to notice a pair of shoes. I knew that they were Michael's but I didn't say anything because I didn't want him to get mad. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

When I went to wake up, there was a bright light hitting me in the face. I moved my hand over my face because it was too bright.

"You're finally up," Michael said. "I've been trying to wake you up for the past 5 minutes."

"Can I come out now?" I yawned as I noticed there was a blanket on me.

"If you promise to not disobey me again," Michael said.

"I won't," I stretched. "Everything hurts!"

"Come on," Michael said as he walked away.

"Hey!" I said as I struggled to stand. "Wait for me!"

Michael went into his room and as I was about to go in, he stuck out his arm and stopped me before I could go in.

"Go take a shower first," Michael said as he turned me around.

"Right," I said as I hurried to my room.

After I showered, I went back to Michael's room and noticed that the door was closed. I knocked and I could hear him say to come in, so I did. When I walked in, Michael was laying in his bed with a towel wrapped around his waist.

"I thought that I would shower too," Michael sighed as he sat up. "You're hair's a mess."

"I didn't have enough time to braid it," I pouted. "I just had enough time to tie it back."

"Come over here," Michael said as he pats the middle of the bed.

I hesitated for a second, but I did as I was told. When I got to the middle of the bed, Michael faced me away from him. He pulled out my hair tie and started to put it into strands.

"Are you gonna try to braid it?" I asked.

"I'm gonna attempt," Michael sighed.

I just sat there and waited for Michael to finish braiding my hair. Once he was done, I looked in the mirror that he had across from his bed. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

"You didn't do half bad," I joked as I could see Michael stand up from his bed.

I wasn't paying attention to what Micheal was doing, but he grabbed onto my waist and threw me onto his bed. He got on top of me and just held my hands down. His breathing was heavy and his face was a dark red. When he looked into my eyes, I could tell that something was off because he had a different look than he normally does.

"M-Michael," I whispered as I tried to pull away. "Please let go of me."

He just stared at me as he tighten his grip. My wrists were starting to hurt now and I was terrified. Tears rolled down my face as I cried for help from Dina and Lily. Michael covered my mouth with his free hand and at this point, I was trying to do everything I could to get away from him. The only reason why I was able to get away was that Dina was able to push him off of me. Michael hit the floor and as he was trying to get up, Dina pulled me behind her. Lily wrapped a blanket around me and pulled me outside. Dina ran out behind us and locked Michael's door from the outside. I could see Michael trying to open the door, but he stopped after about a minute. I was trembling as Lily led me to my room. Dina walked in and I just stared at her.

"W-What was wrong with Michael," I stuttered as I clenched the blanket.

"I guess I have some things that I need to explain about Angels and Demons," Dina sighed as she sat down next to me. "Angels and Demons have this thing that they go into called heat. It's like a dog or cat, but much worse. It rarely happens to Angels that are in Heaven and Demons that are in Hell, but once they come to Earth, it happens a lot. It's hard to control for us, but depending on who is around, it can be stopped. I can tell you right now, that Michael didn't want to do that to you and if Lily or I wasn't there to help, he would've done much worse. Michael would've felt guilt afterward as well if he continued. I know my brother and he would never hurt someone in that way intentionally. You just need to stay in your room for a while though and keep the door and windows locked no matter what. I would even close the curtains if I were you. If he even catches a glimpse of you, you could be in danger. I've been in Michael's situation before and he was there to stop me from doing any harm to Lily."

"How long will this last?" I asked.

"Just depends on how well he can deal with himself," Dina said as she pulled me in for a hug. "Lily or I will come to get you when he is back to normal. Do not open the door for anyone besides us two either. We will bring you food and drinks. Just call one of us if you need anything else, alright. We'll leave you alone for a bit so that you can get over what just happened. Lock the door when we leave."

I just nodded my head and did as I was told when they left.
