The group sped down the road in Billy's car, Avery going dangerously fast without even realising it – her anger was being taken out on the gas pedal. Steve and James were both wedged in the back between Mike and Dustin, still knocked out from fighting with Billy while Max and Lucas shared the passenger seat.

It wasn't legal, the way they were all squished into Billy's car but none of them cared. Not only were they friends with the Chief of police but Avery's dad had gotten her out of trouble regarding her driving multiple times before so she wasn't worried about getting into trouble. And they had a place to be, and they had to get all of them there as quickly as possible, and this was their only option of transport.

None of them had realised how fast the car was going, the road they were speeding down being straight for practically the entire drive. It wasn't until they had to take a turn, the blonde not slowing down once, causing the tyres to squeal slightly against the road beneath them. It was such a dramatic turning that Lucas ended up squishing Max against the window, the girl letting out an annoyed breath when they straightened up.

A groan sounded from the back, Avery rolling her eyes as she watched Steve blearily open his eyes through the mirror. The boy looked around, clearly in pain as he tried to figure out where he was.

"Nancy?" He mumbled in confusion. Avery snorted at the offended look Mike sent him, which turned into a small laugh when Steve furrowed his eyebrows and lifted his hand to touch the wounds on his face from his fight with Billy.

Dustin quickly stopped Steve, instead reassuring him that he put up a good fight. Max and Lucas looked over the map before turning to Avery.

"Okay, keep it straight for half a mile and then..." Lucas trailed off as he looked back at the map.

"You're gonna turn left on Mount Sinai." Max finished.

"What's going on?" Steve asked, still confused.

"Hey dancing queen." Avery greeted as she sped down the road.

Suddenly, James shot awake, immediately regretting the action as he ground, rubbing his forehead before laying back down.

"What's happening right now?" James asked in confusion.

"Avery is currently driving us." Steve panicked, eyes wide.

"We're doing to die." James commented.

"Hey Jamesie, welcome back to the land of the living, so glad you decided to join us." Avery greeted him sarcastically, turning around to face him.

James had a bandage over his abdomen from where Dustin had cleaned his glass cut wound from Billy. They had to do it in the car, none of them wanting to waste any time in going to the tunnels. Avery had to instruct the boy on what to do, and in doing so she realised just how amazing she was at multi-tasking.
