The Emperor held Maul with the Force so he couldn't move at all and jumped over him, but during his jump Drengr threw his lightsaber and cut off both of the Emperor's legs.
The Emperor let out an agonizing scream, dropped his lightsaber and fell back to the ground.
Maul was released from the Force grip and Drengr caught his lightsaber again.
