That night, when the clouds drifted away from a full moon, Lina found herself walking towards a forest. The tall trees threw a long shadow in the moonlight. The thrum of crickets filled the air. The yellow Buttercups swayed slightly as the winds brushed past them. Lina giggled; Her smile cutting deep dimples into each cheeks.

She could feel the warmth in her chest. Her heart was enjoying the tranquility of nature around her. She was feeling light. As if she was floating in air. The sight of the full moon was making her heart sing.

Then, it happened.

All of a sudden the moonlight faded away. And slowly the forest was engulfed by the creeping darkness. Her heart stopped singing. The warmth in her chest disappeared. And her smile faltered. Lina stopped in her tracks. The deafening silence of the forest was creeping her out.

A breathy sound like that of an object passed at high speed making Lina freeze. For a moment she forgot to breathe. Then, a gasp escaped her lips.

“H-hello?”

Her heart was beating wildly against her chest. Small beads of sweat appeared on her forehead. Suddenly, a loud whoosh blew through the forest followed by a bloodcurdling scream. Shivers ran down her spine. Lina was petrified. As each second passed the beating of her heart intensified. When she heard another bloodcurdling scream Lina's heart sank and went straight into panic mode. Just when she was about to turn around and run away a hand clutched her shoulders and threw her on the ground. She opened her mouth to scream but nothing came out. Not even a single sound. It was as if she had lost her voice.

“Where are you running little girl?”  Lina heard a voice. Her throat constricted and she swallowed hard. This couldn't be. She was gone. She was dead. Unshed tears burned Lina's eyes.

Then how?

“You think you could run away from me?” Sounds of her evil laughter resonated through the air. That terrifying laughter which always prickled at her skin with goosebumps.

Suddenly Lina felt a hand roughly grab her hair. And then, a knife was placed at her neck. Lina froze as terror seized her heart. She could feel the cold metal against her skin. “I have been waiting to do this for a while now.” Teardrops after teardrops slid down her cheeks. Strangely enough Lina couldn't feel the pain. As the sharp edges dug deeper in her skin, blood trickled down her throat. “This is it.” The voice whispered. “I'll set you free, little girl.”

But before anything could happen the ground beneath her burst upon and swallowed her. And then Lina woke up.

“Allah,” Lina wiped a sweat from her brow with a shaking hand. She reached up and turned on the lamp. She was panting heavily. Her heart pounding hard. Her head was throbbing. And her throat was on fire. Lina clamped a hand over her mouth, her eyes burning with tears.
