ARABELLA's POVThe Third and Final Surprise.
The words flashed on the screen and mounts of horrifying feeling surged through me, a terrifying shiver ran up and down my spine leaving me in a ghastly frightened state.
I dreaded it,
Every part of my body was alarmed,
A harrowing rush of monstrous thoughts surged through my mind, none of which helped the poor state of my mind.
No part of me wanted to proceed with this sick video.
My intuition had already concluded my beliefs, and I didn't want to accept it.
My denial was powerful,
My acceptance, however, was powerless.
"No matter how much you are not willing to see it, you must watch the entirety of it. You choose the path of revenge, which has always been one of bloodshed. Don't forget it has always been your fight, how can you give up just when things hard? This is only the beginning, this is what you had trained for, what you had worked hard for,why everyone made an effort to teach you, why you stayed with your enemy away from your loved ones. This is what is going to be a war, our final battle, and whether we win or lose, we have to fight." A voice said firmly from afar.
My eyes were drawn to the source in the doorway where my Dad, my uncles, Lucca, Gianni and 'my mother'.
What is she doing here?
Round of shocked gasps echoed around the room after my mother's voice rang through the silence.
My gaze scanned the room, and several pairs of eyes filled with disbelief were locked on my mother, who looked completely unfazed and gave a small nod of acknowledgement to everyone before manoeuvring her way through the doorway, stopping near us.
I also nodded my head at her, not bothering with any formalities of greeting because I simply didn't have any energy left in me.
"Why are you here?" I cleared my throat before asking her, my voice sounded hoarse from all the sobbing I'd previously done.
"There's no need for me to hide now that everything is out in the open. Elric is already aware of the reality of things, so it's more logical to fight head on rather than continue opposing and monitoring covertly." She replied and I nodded my head in response.
"Damn, Alexander told us you were Cora's twin, but it's just creepy to see practically a carbon copy of her." Noah muttered in shock, his mouth was dropped wide open creating a freeway for flies to fly in.
"Not everything that you think is supposed to come out of your mouth." Elijah muttered and I had a flash of dejavu, causing me to exchange a look with Noah and we both burst out laughing.
Condoms cost about a dollar or so...
(Ps- Elijah said the same words in Resilience)"Hello, I'm Angelina." My mother introduced herself with a soft smile before reverting back to her stoic expression.
"Could you possibly be Alexander's mother instead?" Noah inquired again, astounded by how naturally my mother maintained her expressionless front.
This guy...
"Seriously, how many times did you drop him as a child?" Mason asked in exasperation, looking intently at our father for an answer, right before smacking Noah on the back of his head.
"I lost count." Dad responded with a sigh, earning an offended look from Noah, while everyone else smiled as they felt the atmosphere lighten.
"Mom, Jesse died." I said quietly, but she didn't seem surprised, revealing that she was already aware of the incident.
"Many will die, but you can't concede defeat after the first death you see. Jesse got into this mess knowing how his end could come, he knew he would be tortured in the most horrific and unimaginable ways possible if he was ever caught, but that didn't stop him from joining my revenge. None of this justifies his death, but we cannot bring the dead back to life. We can only help him earn retribution so that his soul can rest in peace. He's a closed chapter. In the book of life, once a page is turned, it cannot be turned back, it's as good as remnant ashes. These rules are beyond our ability to fight, but fighting new chapters and writing how they end is entirely within our control. How you want to end your book is entirely up to you. We can only assist you for so long, Arabella, but the final destiny is what you have to write on your own. You are my daughter, you are no coward, don't let this be a setback; instead, use it as a motivator to accomplish what you have long desired." Mom stated firmly, her voice never wavering from the firm resolution of the righteousness of her claim.
"So heartless, I love it." Noah muttered from next to me as he gazed admiringly at my mother, causing me to roll my eyes at him.
Dismissing Jesse's death as a closed chapter, how mentally strong was my mother?
"You are brutal." I said to my mother, who gave me an unfazed look and shrugged her shoulders.
Regardless of how harsh her words were, I did agree with her.
The words sounded ruthless, but they remained true to reality.
As I pondered over my thoughts, my gaze wandered around the room, landing on a stiff Rhett who was silently staring at the television screen, oblivious to what was going around him.
I love you, so damn much..
His confession rang in my ears, and I sighed, recalling how I couldn't respond to him.
I didn't respond to him, despite the fact that I was clearly aware of my feelings for him.
I simply couldn't reply, at that moment.
I was probably braindead, because no words came out of my mouth, none were formed by my brain.
I took a deep breath and nodded at Enzo, who was holding the remote in his hand, to play the remaining video, before making my way to stand beside Rhett.
I extended my hand to take his, causing him to jerk away from his reverie, as he looked down at my hand before bringing his gaze to look into my eyes.
His grip on my hand tightened, and we both turned to look at the television, which began to change screen from words written on it.
A fearful gasp left my mouth which I quickly covered by placing my hand tightly over my mouth as I saw two unconscious figures bound in shackles...
Kyson and Bryn.
I hadn't realised my grip on Rhett's hand had become so tight that my nails were digging into the back of his hand.
Even Rhett's grip on my hand had grown stronger, but his previously tightened jaw slackened as his helpless eyes took in the image of fainted Bryn.
My other hand had automatically fisted in frustration, and the nails were tearing the skin of my palm, causing blood to ooze out onto the floor.
I felt helpless as I saw two of the most important people in my life chained and powerless to protect themselves.
This nonsense had dragged on for far too long, the people I love and care about had been hurt and tortured year after year, the despair that has engulfed my life had begun to suffocate everyone who came close to me.
I can't let this continue, I can't let the history repeat itself, Kyson nearly died the last time, I can't risk that again, and definitely not with Bryn too.
It's all because of me.
It's all my fault
Everything has to do with me, if only I weren't in their lives, they wouldn't have to suffer as much.
I have to save them, no matter what or how,
I have to save them.
I have to put an end to this once and for all,
It's time for the grand finale.
