ARABELLA'S POV

Brown eyes—

The ones that looked right through my pretence and directly into my soul.

His eyes hold raw emotions I was all too familiar with, those pitch brown eyes seemed to lurk sadness beneath the depths of coldness which flashed through them like a light coming out of a torch.

Tattoos littered around his visible forearms as he stood leaning against the wall with his bulging arms crossed in front of his torso.

His once boyish look had drastically changed to one of a dangerously muscular man.

His eyes glint with something akin to the look of a powerful predator.

His entire demeanour screamed dominance and nothing appeared to get away from his scrutinising gaze that seemed to have been permanently etched into those gorgeous narrowed eyes.

Not only his eyes, even his presence had an unnerving effect on me, just his glance was enough to leave me shaken to my core.

His stare was locked to mine as I could decipher the danger that bluntly prowled in his eyes and even his stance was enough to have people running away in fright.

Rhett Hayes or otherwise known as 'Hades' in the underworld stood in front of me with the most bored expressions on his face since the moment I entered the living room.

I wouldn't lie that the look of monotony and lack of interest on his face sting my heart but at the same time it irked me to no limit.

His expressions didn't calm me down at all, in fact they made me bothered, more and more, in every way possible.

My hands itched to slap that boredom off of his face and I knew that he was aware of how much it was bothering me but he still made no effort to change the expressions of disinterest and impassivity from his face.

Son of a monkey—

Anyway, Rhett had made quite a reputation of himself in the underworld in the past year and a half.

He's literally called the king of hell and he's one of the reasons besides the barbaric acts of my dear brothers, that the Italian-American Mafia had earned the title of the most ruthless Mafia in the world after re-building themselves from scratch.

There's nothing he isn't good at when it comes to operating the Mafia, the boy alone can run a most powerful Mafia of his own, but Rhett had chosen to be a part of my family's mafia.

I have heard about 'the Hades' from Lucca and Elric, all about him being the best man of my brothers mafia's to the ways he kill and torture.

I still remember Lucca telling the word around the streets associated with Hades.

They say that when Hades kills someone then even the souls of those people are terrified to be reborn.

And seeing him today, I could tell that he does live up to his name and reputation.

The coldness and passiveness on his ever so handsome face scared me of any possibility of us.

The truth of our reality makes my heart grow sad but in any other way I was glad because I didn't have in me to pursue anything with Rhett, nor did I have the time for the same.

And there was also a possibility of him finding someone else for himself. The thought alone irked me but I had no right to hope for Rhett to be single and waiting for me, when I was practically dead in his eyes.

All I have is an abundance of emptiness as I have taught my heart to mimic it's unwavering stride into voidness and that's all my heart knows now.

In the depths of nothingness, there's no place in my heart for even a likelihood of a chance for love.
