Chapter 7- Thoughts...

Neither one charged in first out of warry of the other as they circled each other. Deciding that Sol wasn't much of a threat after a minute of circling, Paul lounged at Sol who jumped back in time to avoid being bitten. After that Paul went completely on the offensive trying anyway, he knew to harm Sol.

Meanwhile on the sidelines, slowly growing in numbers due to the excited chattering of a challenge, was Seth and Jacob who were worried about the challenge not wanting to see Sol get injured or banished. 

while watching the fight Seth mumbled something under his breathe drawing Jacob's attention, "what did you say?", he asked looking down on his imprint.

Meeting Jacobs stare at him Seth spoke up, "It's like he doesn't want to..." Seth trailed off, "... hurt Paul?" Jacobs asked completing Seth's thought, "yeah".

Back with Sol who was perfectly fine while Paul was slightly panting, "Fight back and stop dodging!" yelled Paul through the pack's mind link. 

looking over at Seth and Jacob who seemed to finish their conversation Sol looked at them as they nodded back at him signaling it was alright to fight back. That was all he needed for confirmation to launch his own attacks instead of playing defense. immediately Paul felt a change in the air as he charged at Sol who was surprisingly charging him back. As Paul tried to bite him Sol slid on the ground making Paul loose site of him, a mistake when dealing with a hybrid or vampire. 

Turning around frantically Paul tried to find Sol, but it was too late because he felt arms around his neck lifting him into the air as he was slammed on his back. Everyone could see Paul desperately try and escape Sol's choke hold with no success, and after about a minute Paul went motionless as he passed out shifting back into human form. Getting back up after feeling Paul's body relax Sol turned around to meet the shocked faces of the pack and tilted his head in confusion from all the stares. For everyone else they were still trying to process the fight, after all it's not every day you see one of the strongest fighters go down that fast.

"Well now that that's settled will you accept being the packs 3rd in command?", asked Sam not bothering to move knowing Sol could hear him perfectly. this question made eyebrows raise in curiosity towards the brown-haired hybrid. 

Closing his eyes and humming a bit Sol shook his head with a small but noticeable smile on his face," I don't think I would be fitted for a role like this...so is it possible for Paul to keep his rank?" asked Sol shocking everyone by this act of kindness minus Jacob and Seth.

"Wait I'm confused," said Embry who voiced pretty much everyone's thoughts, "why wouldn't you give the position to someone else if you didn't want it for yourself?" he asked with Jared standing beside him murmuring in agreement. 

"Well from what I know he isn't the person to be tied down from responsibility," said Jacob looking at the ground in thought.

" He also is still new to the pack, so I understand not wanting the position," said Seth who was probably to most carefree wolf. this sparked a conversation from everyone on if that was the right choice making Seth walk to Sol.

Meanwhile while this was happening Sol and Seth carried Paul inside the pack house and found some shorts to put him in, then they sat in silence for a bit until Seth spoke up.

"Hey Sol... are you prepared for tonight?", asked Seth thinking about how they were about to confront the Cullens (in a hopefully peaceful manner) tonight. 

"I've only ever seen them once and I've never fought vampires before so I'm not sure, i mean i don't really care if I'm being honest," Sol stated with a shrug as he and Seth sat down in a chair by the bed Paul was passed out in, " I guess I'm a little nervous, but I know the pack will protect each other so that's something if you think about it." he stated leaning on Seth yawning and in response getting a yawn back and a chin on his head.

"Ugh guys this is stupid and it's pointless," said Embry frustrated from the conversation that hasn't gone anywhere for the past few minutes, getting a few groans and nods of agreements, " i mean how do we even get on the topic of best foods?"

"Embry is right, plus we all have to get ready for tonight so rest up a bit because we'll probably only have about 4-7 hours until we go to the Cullens house," said Sam making members of the pack agree with 'Yeahs' and 'see yous' as headed home, some shifting and others walking only leaving Jacob and Sam standing there.

"Hey where is Sol, Seth, and Paul?" asked Jacob looking at where they were before the random conversation happened.

"They went inside Jacob," said Emily nearly scaring the pants off of Jacob since he thought she was inside, " probably in the guest room if I had to guess." she said Chuckling a bit at the reaction from Jacob as he walked inside followed by Sam and Emily.

wasting no time to make his was upstairs Jacob was met with the sight of is imprints leaning on each other sleeping. not wanting to interrupt the cute scene Infront of him Jacob grabbed a chair and sat on the opposite side of the bed. as he was getting ready to get comfortable his eyes met with those of Paul who had only just woken up creating a tense silence.

"I... I guess i lost my position huh", said Paul deciding to speak up first about what happened.

"Actually, he let you keep your position, nobody knows why but it was his choice," said Jacob looking at Sol still soundly sleeping beside Seth. "Paul I just... I just want to know what was that all about," said Jacob as he looked at Paul with a hurt expression. "I guess I just got jealous of you having your imprints with you and i took it out on the little dude," he said with a sigh, " I know my actions aren't alright but... I promise I'll do better and make it up to you three." said Paul looking at Jacob with determination in his eyes. 

"Well i look forward to it but for now let's just rest up a bit before we have to go." said Jacob yawning slightly as he dozed off leaving an awake Paul to think about what he's done.
