Ayleen's POV

Clara didn't come to the show on Friday but said she will prepare the house for the after-party. As usual, it was a success, even though it was more crowded, the bar owner told us that some people came specially for us.

Knowing that we were succeeding gave me a sense of accomplishment, I am having fun doing something I loved, and to see such positive results was an incredible feeling to have.

My excitement that night was high, not only for our successful event but also for having the chance to spend the evening with Clara.  It was almost as if I could not have enough of that woman.

After the show, we made our way to her house, needless to say, Serena was speechless when she walked into the penthouse. I tried to act surprised but I was very bad at lying and pretending, luckily enough, she didn't notice dazzled by the interior.

Clara invited a couple of her friends, Jake and his wife Christina, Jake worked with Clara at her law firm, and If I was not mistaken I believe I've seen them at the bar before.

From the moment we arrived, Clara seemed slightly tensed, I was a little disappointed at her lack of enthusiasm in greeting me, clearly, something was on her mind. I saw her discussing something with Jake but decided not to intrude, most likely work stuff I wouldn't understand.

Clara's POV

"Why?! Why would you invite Jasmine?" I could only imagine the disaster that was about to happen.

"How would I know Clara? You are always with her or with Katherine!" he defended himself not understanding the issue.

"Katherine??!!! Please tell me you didn't invite her too," I exclaimed. I almost had a heart attack thinking about it, Jasmine, I could handle but Katherine, that's a whole different story.

"No, just Jasmine, I would never put them both in the same room,"  he told me and the doorbell rang just as he finished speaking.

"Go open the door and you better keep her away from me and Ayleen, THE ENTIRE NIGHT!" I spoke firmly and walked over to the petite girl I was so eager to see.

I grabbed her hand and pulled her to the chair next to me, I could feel Serena's eyes on me but I didn't care at the moment, I had bigger problems at hand.

"Are you okay?" Ayleen whispered into my ear, her furrowed brows adorable.

"Yes.. just some... complications," I glanced towards Jake that was walking into the room accompanied by Jasmine.

"Ah..." I could feel the disappointment in her voice once she realized what this was about.

"I didn't invite her, Jake did," I felt the need to explain.

"It's your house, Clara," she told me with a weak smile, what is that supposed to mean?

It's your house, as I in am free to do what I want or, it's your house, how the fuck can someone else invite her here? Honestly, I had no idea, but either way, she looked unhappy, and that wasn't right.

"Hey, love! Nice party," Jasmine spoke aloud and I wanted to stab her in her tongue.

"It's not a party, it's just a friendly gathering but please make yourself comfortable," I muttered, noticing how she glanced towards Ayleen and furrowed her eyebrows at the sight.

"Babysitting again?" she whispered in my ears as she leaned in to give me a kiss.

I got up and pulled her to the side, hoping Ayleen didn't hear her comment.
