The minute Emily stepped inside of her room, she began writing. Not for Sue. For Amy.
My river runs to thee:
Blue sea, wilt welcome me?My river waits reply.
Oh sea, look graciously!I'll fetch thee brooks
From spotted nooks,—Say, sea,
Take me!-Emily Dickinson, I couldn't wait any longer.
And so she hides the letter in the desk drawer, ready to send it the very next day.

"Emily, I truly do love you. I want to get married to you and run away, just the two of us," Amy stated, her hand running down Emily's cheek.
"I do too," Emily held the hand still on her cheek and leaned into it, "I love you too."
Amy's smile lit up the whole room and Emily reciprocated that smile, but, if possible, even larger.
"Let's run away together, my love," Amy leaned in, her face millimeters apart from Emily's.
"Ok."
and then Emily was engulfed in pure bliss as her lips connected with Amy, her lips tast-
"EMILY! WAKE UP!"
Emily jolted out of her bed as she was met with her mothers face, fuming and red from anger.
"Emily, I was cleaning your room and I was met with this piece of paper, with a love poem on it," her mother lectured on, "did you perhaps find a suitable suitor for you and you haven't informed me of such? I am your mother and I shall not tolerate such disrespect!"
Emily sat there frozen, had her mother seen her poem to Amy? Of course she did.
"I- I was ju- just practicing my writing?" Emily justified, though, she wasn't entirely sure if that was a question or a statement.
"Emily... do not lie to me, I birthed you from my very womb, I know if you are lying or not," her mother said, "I might forgive you, however, if you bring over your suitor."
Emily stared at her mother, "I- ok?" she tried to form a proper excuse, but couldn't think of one.
"Very good Emily, invite him over for dinner tomorrow?" her mother said, not waiting for an answer before heading downstairs to tell the family the 'good' news.
"I hate life," Emily groaned before flopping back into bed.

"Amy! Breakfast!" Jo called out as Amy ran down the stairs, nearly running over Meg, who was sweeping the floors.
"I'm here~" Amy called as she entered into the dining room, Meg close behind, the broom already put in it's proper place.
Jo stuffed her face along with Amy, "You got mail, by the way," she said, mouth still full.
"From whom?" Amy questioned with sincerity, she didn't think she would get mail, she never gets mail.
