After class, the speakers blared loudy, everyone in the halls groaning. The speakers finally stopped and a voice rang through the halls, "Sorry, sorry, for the loudness students! But the peprally is beginning at 2:45pm sharp!" "ALL students, please escort yourselves to the gym." The speaker announced.

You were reading on a window sill, your headphones playing "mr. brightside" (*pretend it existed in 1986.*)
You were so invested in your book that when someone tapped your shoulder you jumped.
You turned off your music and put your headphones on your neck, "Oh my god, you scared me Dustin!"
"Sorryyyy" pronouncing a long 'Y' towards the end.
"The pep rally is starting soon c'mon!!" He tried budging you off the window seat
"Alright, alright, jeez!"
You and Dustin met with the rest of the group on the bleachers as you headed into the gym. Not seeing Henry yet.
"Hey have you guys seen Henry?" Asking Robin and Nancy
"Maybe he's off being sketchy somewhere" they giggled, nancy soft-fake punching robin's shoulder,
"You guys are so immature," you giggled too.
You saw Henry march in, he saw you immediately, it was kind of adorable. He started walking towards you and sat next to you, you and him were only a few feet from the rest of the group.
"Hi Y/n" he smiled
"Hi Henry."
"What is a 'peep-raully'?"
You tried not to giggle, "It's pronounced pep-rally, henry."
"Oh." He laughed
Dustin and Max started doing the "OOoOoO" at you two because they shipped it
You mouthed them to stop and flicked them off, the little shits were snickering together.

"Sorry about them Henry."
"It's okay, why are they ooo-ing at us?" He questioned
"Oh it's nothing they just saw Jason being stupid," you lied

Is he oblivious? That they're talking about us beside one another?

The peprally began and jason had missed as he got blocked by the opposition team, Bridgestone High, so fucking annoying and stuck up. It just makes it worse.

Jason flicked one of the players off.

Your group began laughing so hard but quiet enough for the teachers not to overhear what jason gestured. Henry and you laughed together as well and he also kept staring at you.

"Y/n?"
"Yes Henry?"

Waiting for his response he looked forward again silently at the basketball game, you felt something slightly tickle your pinkie, and then you felt his hand on yours,
Henry was holding your hand. Pretending like you aren't flustered as fuck as you noticed. Like he wasn't doing anything, he was still watching the game go on.

Eddie cheered as Chrissy was lifted up, holding her pom-poms, by the other cheerleaders and some boys.

You finally broke the awkwardness, well at least for you.
   "Henry?"
"Yes, love?"
"I-uh, why are you holding my hand?"
He put his free hand's finger against his lips signaling you to not ask again.
He lifted your hand up and kissed your hand, like you were some princess or shit.
"Henry."
"What was that?"
"What was what?" He asked innocently smiling at you.

You just looked back at the game trying to not focus on your butterflies in your stomach and the crush on him getting worse.

What the fuck?
Why is he holding my hand for fucks-sake??!
"HE KISSED MY HAND??"
Does he like me? Or is he just joking?
your thoughts swarmiung anxiously as you overthought his actions.

Your train of thought stopped as soon as you spot Lucas, he had the ball and was sprinting to make a basket.

"HOLY SHIT GUYS LOOK"
they all stopped chattering and looked where Lucas was heading
"Oh my god!" Dustin, Will and Mike exclaimed.
We all starting cheering him on, as well as most of the hawkins students in the gym. Other than the shallow minded bitches who only care about how hot a guy is and how popular they are, risking whatever they enjoyed just to be a "cool kid".

We all screamed as Lucas made the basket and won the championship for Hawkins High,
Robin started laughing,
"Dude imagine graduating right before your high-school earns a championship in 21 years."
Nancy and Max tried not to laugh since Nacy and Steve were dating again.
