A/N: ST4 S3 Spoilers, panic, anixety"Locked in my mind, get out."
[Maxines Point Of View]
I anxiously ring the doorbell several times, waiting for a response.
The doors opens quickly, "Max, hi?" She says.
"Hi." I say.
"I'm so sorry to bother you on break, but, do you have a minute to talk?" I asked.
"Um, yeah, of course, of course." She responds, gesturing for me to come in.
I look behind me, making sure my friends aren't too easily in sight....
[Back to your POV]
"Okay, she's in." Steve says.
"Missing collarbones but not eyes?" Dustin says.
"So, are we gonna talk, about 'it'?" Dustin asks.
"I'm sorry, talk about what?" Steve asks.
Dustin looks in the backseat at me and Henry, giving us the 'look'.
"Your temporary insanity earlier today, when you basically threw yourself at Nance." Dustin says.I laugh loudly, quickly covering my mouth.
"Okay, first of all, that's not what happened." Steve insured.
"Pretty sure that's what happened.." Dustin shrugged.
"Okay," Steve interrupts.
"--It was pretty public, there was like--- a lot of witnesses." Dustin continued.
"A-are you implying that I still have a thing for nance?" Steve asked in a angry tone."No."
"I'm not implying."
"I'm stating."
"--And, as it relates to your stray-fast refusing to date Robin, it's pretty much the only logical explanation." Dustin argued."That's not the only one." Steve sneered.
"And as for Nance, I was just trying to-- protect a 'friend'." Steve said, trying to pretend like he practically didn't leap onto trying to get a thing going on with Nancy.
"--A friend, Henderson!"
"Okay?" He groaned.
"Okay!" Dustin agreed.
"I don't wanna find her in the morning, with her eyes sucked out of the front of her skull, by this Vecna creep!"
Dustin laughed, "You're like bright red in the face right now." Dustin laughed once more.
"No, I'm not." Steve argued.
"You totally are, Harrington." I snorted.
"Yeah, like a tomato." Henry chuckled.
"I don't wanna talk about it, I'll punch you so hard in your face, that your teeth will fall back out." Steve said angrily.
"Shit, man." I tried to cover my laugh.
"Woah, too far." Dustin said in all seriousness.
The car went silent for a split second, Steve looked at Dustin, immediately regretting his words.
"Not cool, sorry." Steve agreed.
"It's-- It's cool man." Dustin said in a slighter high pitch.Steve nodded slowly, the two fist bumping in truce.
...
[Maxine's Point of view.]Tsk...Tck...Tsk..Tck...tsk..tck..
The clock on the wall above repeated once again."It's just, with everything that's been happening--with all of the murders, it's just, it's making everything worse again." I say as I take a deep breath out.
"You've experienced trauma, max." The counselor sighed.
"And you're feelings, your pain, bottled up the way you do it, it doesn't take much to trigger them again." The counselor explains.I roll my eyes in response.
"And, so now when it rains, it storms." She suggests.
I nodded, looking aside, pretending I was going to listen anyways, then turned my gaze back at her.
"Yeah, I know." I say.
A brief moment of silence, the clock repeatedly ticking, "tsk..tick..tsk...tck..tsk."
She breaks the brief silence, sighing and leaning onto her front, "Do you think that you're ready to talk more?" She asks.
"About that night?" She adds.My thoughts consume me, the memories of 'that night' flooding back into my pitiful brain, picturing the whole horrific moment.
In short, everlasting time, I come back to reality.
I move off to a different subject.
"I live next door to where it happened."
"I'm sorry?" She asks.
"To where Chrissy, was murdered." I respond.
"Cops asked me a bunch of questions, did they talk to you?" I questioned.
She looks at me in slight frustration, "I mean, I know you were seeing Chrissy." I say."Max, you know I can't talk about about Chrissy, or any other student." She states.
"But I mean, what if there was a serial killer, on the loose, in my neighborhood?" I breathe out.
"Did Chrissy mention, anything?" I question.
"--Anything about, who might've done this?" I ask.
"Max, I'm sorry, I really can't discuss this." She explained.
"You wouldn't want me talking to any other students about you, right?" She asks me, looking all serious and shit.
"If i was dead, and it would help catch the killer, then yeah, I most definitely would." I say in angst.
"Well, let's leave that up to the police, shall we?" She smiles at me, like an utterly insane maniac.Urgh. I thought.
I mutter out a lie, "Yeah." I falsely agreed.
"You're right." I sigh.She nods, grinning.
"The police, totally have this under control." I mutter, nodding, my hands clasped one, in one.
I interrupt her train of thought, or whatever, "Can I use the bathroom?" I ask.
"Sure, up the stairs, to the left." She pointed, gesturing the direction.I stand up out of the armchair, "Thanks." I said.
I casually march up the small staircase, increasing my walk speed as I get farther up.
I notice a rounded shaped bowl, it contained some keys.
It must be her office keys, to the school counselor's office.
I gaze down the stairs, at her, eying to see if she was paying any sort of attention.
Her eyes were darted on some paperwork, a notebook, of some sort.
I rush towards the rounded bowl, grabbing the keys, reading the tag 'OFFICE' written in black coloured sharpie-pen.
I run out the door quietly, hurrying to Steve's car.I rushingly open the car door, getting seated near Y/n, & Henry.
"What'd she say?" Dustin asked, darting his eyes towards me.
"Nothing." I said.
"Nothing?" Steve asked.
"Steve, drive!" I said quickly."Okay!" He says, reversing the vehicle, the tires screeching in response, the car speeds off onto the street.
The walkie-talkie screeches, "Dustin, Dustin, do you copy?!" A voice asked in a panicked tone.
It was Lucas.Dustin picks up the loud object, the walkie-talkie, "Lucas?"
"Where the hell have you been?!"
Dustin interrogated.
"Just listen." He said.
"Are you guys looking for Eddie?" He asked.
"Yeah, we found him, no thanks to you!" Dustin said angrily.
"You found him?" Lucas asked, ignoring the previous comment.
"He's at a boathouse, on cole-mill road, don't worry he's safe, yeah?" Henry said loudly, so Lucas could hear.
"You guys know he killed Chrissy right?" Lucas asked, concerned.
"That's bullshit!" Dustin screeches.
"Eddie tried to save Chrissy." Dustin said.
"Then why do all the cops think that he did it?" Lucas asked.
Before Dustin could speak, Y/n snatched the walkie-talkie out of his grasp. "You're so behind it's ridiculous, just meet us at the school, we'll explain everything." Y/n said into the loud rectangular object.
"I can't." Lucas said, panicked.
"I think some real bad shit is about to go down." Lucas informed.
"What are you talking about, bad shit?" Y/n asked.
We got no response, "Lucas?" I ask into Y/n's hands.
"Lucas?" I repeat.
Still no response.[...]
