On the drive home, Henry had been acting rather fidgety.
"Henry, you alright?"
"Yeah, why do you ask?"
"You've been fidgeting with the seatbelt the whole car ride."
"I'm just thinking."
"Alright." you didn't bother asking because it probally wasn't your place to ask.
*running up that hill by Kate Bush playing in the background*
"I like this song." He smiled
"It's my favorite." You smiled in return
"It doesn't hurt me, but you want to feel how it feels, you wanna know that it doesn't hurt me, but you wanna hear about the deal"
You sang to it
Henry looked at you in awe
"There is thunder in our hearts"
He sang along
"If only I could, id make a deal with god, and get him to swap our places." you sang with him, smiling

Your thoughts consumed your mind again.

Is he lying to me? It echoed through your head

Where did he even run off too in such a hurry?
Maybe his nose was bleeding because running? That doesn't even make sense.

You guys were on the way to the Wheeler's to see the rest of the group. It was the day before memorial day weekend.
You had planned on having a dnd game while eating surfer boy pizza, then you guys would go swimming at lovers lake and Mr. And Mrs. Wheeler would barbecue hotdogs and then roast smores over a festive bonfire surrounded by red, white, and blue, sparkly decorations
You told Henry what you guys were actually doing and he was ecstatic! He had never celebrated anything, not even his birthday, it was heartbreaking. The whole group was excited to show Henry a good time with friends and food, and swimming!
You pulled into the Wheeler's driveway, Mr. Wheeler waved, he was packing their car with a cooler, beach towels, 2 beach umbrellas the decorations, sunglasses, and sunblock.
It was a tad chilly, but the sun was beginning to come out so you didn't worry about it.
"I'm so excited!!" Henry was like a little kid, it was so cute. He was practically hopping around smiling.
"I know, I know!" You lead him inside and then downstairs to greet the others
"We're he-"
Robin, and Nancy cut you off by jumping on you, all three of you fall to the ground laughing
"Happy Memorial day weekend!! They shouted as they giggled
"Guess who's coming!" Robin said hardly containing her excitement,
"Who?"
"VICKIE!"
"OMG!" you shouted in giggly excitement
"Wait.. so, does she like boobies?"
"OMG, y/n!" she fake punches your shoulder
"What?!"
"Don't say boobies!" She said still giggling
"Steve says it!" Nancy laughed in-between words
"I mean- you're not wrong but don't say boobies!!" robin screeched
You, Nancy, and Robin wrre laughing so hard you'd fall to the floor if youd hadn't already!
"Hey by the way, where's Henry?" You looked around
"He's playing DND with the boys," Robin rolled her eyes mocking
"The pizza is here I think, you guys want some?" Nancy asked politely
"Yesss!" You said excitedly
"How is that a question?!" Robin raced you upstairs, winning of course.
"Hey guys!" You and Nancy waved, Robin already went for the pizza, stuffing her mouth.
"Jeez lady!" Dustin said in a jokingly concern
"Hi Henry." You walked up to him
"Hi y/n!!" He said placing you in his lap, hugging your waist with his head on your shoulder
"Omg are you guys a thing?" Max asked
"Uh." you two stared at eachother
Mike interrupted talking about DND so you two could dodge the question

"Hey kiddos!" Karen (Mrs. Wheeler) shouted from the front door's doorway
"You guys all ready to go?"
"Yes!"
"Yup!"
"Readier than ever!" a few of you shouted at a time in unison
As you all headed out the door, Henry headed with the boys, in the Wheeler's car, so did El and Mrs. Wheeler.
You, Robin, Nancy, and Max in your car including steve
"Hey guys?"
"What's up y/n?" Robin asked
"Mhm?" Nancy hummed
"Yup?" Steve asked
"Henry has been acting strange."
"Like what?" Nancy asked
"Remember how he showed up late to lunch?"
"Mhm?" Nancy and Robin hummed in unison
"I feel like he was up to something."
"Especially because on the carride to your house Nance, he was like, very fidgety, and I asked him what was up and he just said 'thinking'.
"Maybe he was peeing." Nance stated
"Girl what?" You laughed
"Maybe he was up to something!" Steve inquired
"Not with the theories again Steve!" Nancy giggled
"Maybe Steve is right y/nn?"
"Eh." You sighed
"Maybe?" You said in defeat
You guys pulled up to lovers lake, shutting the doors and hopping out of the car.
The boys were already swimming and Vickie was seated at a bench with an umbrella smiling and waving Robin down, "That's my cue!" She said to the three of you
You and Nancy mouthed the words "goodluck!"
While steve.. mouthed the words "see! BOOBIES." and Robin made a fake gagging face and flicked him off laughing
A few moments later, Henry came running up to you and put you over his shoulders and threw you in the water
"OMG HENRY!"
"I didn't bring a change of clothes!"
"Neither did I." He said grinning
"Your clothes aren't wet though!"
You took off your soaked clothes revealing your two-piece swimsuit. He was staring. Staring hard.
"Henry?"
"Yeah?" His eyes flickering up at you and back to your swimsuit
"Got a staring problem sir?"
"uh-" he brushed it off by splashing you with water
"omg you ass!" you giggled splashing him back with water
"Hey kiddos! Food is ready!" Mr. Wheeler shouted
"Let's go eat Henry!"
"Yay." He smiled
You went up to Nancy and Steve flirting.. "Sorry if I'm interrupting but-" you cut yourself off
"omg nance! Look!" you whisper yelled pointing at Robin and Vickie holding hands giggling at they walked up to where Dustin, Mike, Lucas, Will, and El were seated.
"Omg!" You two giggled cheering her on quietly and mouthing "omg" and making a heart shaped motion with your hands
Henry was still beside you and took your hand to go sit down and grab some hotdogs and eat with the rest of the group and the parents
Henry looked so happy

About an hour and thirty three minutes later of swimming or eating, or both;

They lit the bonfire,
And decorated a bit more, the stars twinkling, the bonfire shining again the sparkly decor.
Henry and you sat together holding hands and Lucas handed him a sparkler
"What's this?"
"Here let me light it," You gestured
His eyes twinkled as the sparkler started going off, "It's very pretty" he gleamed at you with doe eyes, admiring the sparkling stick and friendly ambiance of the bonfire.
You grabbed one and lit your own too, "Come on! The best part is running around with them Henry!" You took his hand and ran around chasing eachother on the grass, the sparklers had already went out but you two were having to much fun running around like children. You and henry found a nice spot on a rock and watched the pretty twinkling stars, you felt Henry staring at you.
You looked up and smiled at him and played with his loose hairs falling in front of his face, "y/n?"
"Yes?" He sat there in silence, contemplating like he was hesitant. But all of a sudden he kissed you and you kissed him back. It the best day you've had in quite a while. 
You two roasted marshmallows with the rest of the group singing along to a song Eddie wrote, he got there a bit later than the others but he had fun aswell.
You drove Steve, Robin, and Nancy home, and Henry came too.
While the Wheelers brought home the rest of them for a sleepover.
