September 19th, 1986[Maxine's Point of View]
I hear my neighbor's dog loudly barking, so I walk over to my fridge, taking out some leftovers.
I put my shoes on, quietly heading out the door.
"Alright, alright, here you go." I say as I feed the dog.
As I start standing, my neighbor's van comes speeding, loudly blasting music.
The van parks near their trailer.
"So.. this is, my castle." They say as they hop out of the van.
It was Eddie Munson.
He reminded me of billy, slightly.
I shrugged and walked back into my trailer.
I walked to the sink, opening the cabinet above, grabbing the bottle of tylenol.
I emptied two capsules into my hand, cupping a bit of water in the other, to drown it all down.
I take the capsules quickly.
"Ugh." I groan to myself, trashing the empty beer cans, and putting out the cigarette buds.
The lights started flickering quickly, then stopped.
It's pretty normal for my trailer to do that, shitty electricity.
The television was going static, making the 'bzzz' noise.
I banged on the top of the TV twice, still nothing, I ended up just turning it off.
I walk to my room, I sit at my desk.
I turn on Kate Bush on the radio quietly, I sketch out some doodles of some fireworks, and a few flowers.
"AHHHHHH!" I hear Eddie scream from the inside of his trailer, running outside.
I open the blinds slightly to see him rushing to his van, slamming the door, and speeding out of the trailer park.
He always drives like a maniac, so I didn't really pay much mind to it, but I don't know where the girl went. Maybe she left already, I don't know.
I sighed, clicking my radio off.
I pull my cover down, and then lay in bed, pulling it back over myself and trying to fall asleep.
...I wake up the next morning, I go to take my anxiety and depression pills. I gulp down the pills with a handful of water.
I hear some loud voices and some slamming of what sounds like car doors.
I pull over my cardigan and put on my sandals.
As I head out the door I see multiple cops and cop cars, along with the Hawkins P.D and sheriff.
I see a news van pull up as well.
A reporter or two hopping out, shutting the car doors loudly.
I walk over trying to see what is going on inside of Eddie's trailer, my mouth falls open as I see a girl, in a Hawkins Highschool cheer uniform.
I quickly close my mouth, and try to get a better look, an officer stops me in my tracks. "You can't be out here right now, get inside." I try to push through the officer, I see better, I'm pretty sure it's Chrissy Cunningham.
I gasp to my self, as the officer speaks once again, "Go." He said.
I run off into my trailer, in shock.
I sneak off to Dustin's house, on my bicycle.
...
I knock.
I hear footsteps receding, and some walking towards the front door.
Dustin opens the door, looking at me with a little bit of shock, probally because I arrived at his door, unexpectedly.
...
"Chrissy Cunningham?" Dustin says.
"You sure it was Chrissy?"
"Yes, she was in her cheerleading outfit, the same thing I saw her in when she was with Eddie." I Say.
"Did you tell all of this to the cops?" Dustin interrogates.
"No- no, but I can't be the only one who saw them together, they stood out." I say
"Eddie the freak, with Chrissy, the cheerleader?" He asks.
"Exactly," I say.
"His name is not in the news yet or anything, but I guarantee you, Eddie is suspect number one right now." I inquire.
"That's crazy."
"Eddie didn't do this, no way!" He argued.
"No way." He repeated
"Well, we can't rule it out!" I argue back.
"Yes we can!" He says.
"Dustin!"
"You don't know him like I do, Max!" He argues.
"Okay?" He asks.
"When we got to Highschool, Lucas made all his sports friends."
"Mike and me?"
"I mean no one, was nice to us, no one except Eddie." He sighs.
"Okay, well, I mean they said the same thing about Tedd Bundy." I state.
"Yeah he's like a super nice guy, but then, he's murdering women on the weekends." I say.
"So you're saying Eddie, is like Tedd Bundy?" He asks
"I-Im not saying,"
"We can't presume anything, okay?" I inquired once more.
"But, it doesn't look good for Eddie." I say.
Dustin sighs harshly, sitting on his bed.
I sigh aswell.
"Why haven't you told the cops this?" He asks, breaking the silence.
"I-I don't know." I shrug.
"You, don't, know?" He asks.
I sigh once more, walking towards his bed, sitting beside Dustin.
I breath in, "After I saw Eddie and Chrissy go in the trailer, something else happened." I say.
...
"Nothing that weird, or anything, Eddie always drives like a maniac, and the power goes out in my places all of the time, it's a piece of shit." I say.
"This morning, I started to think back, I don't know."
"The look, on his face." I pause, "He was, scared, Dustin, really scared." I say.
"Maybe he was scared because h-he just killed someone, or maybe um- b-because, I don't know, maybe----" I paused once more.
"Something else, killed her?" He asks.
I nod, "But that's, impossible, right?" I ask.
"I don't know----" He uttered out.
"It should be." He says.
I look away, slightly frightened."There's only one person who knows what actually happened." He says.
We look at eachother, slowly nodding at one another.
"---Eddie." I say.
"Have you talked to anyone else?" He asks.
"No-- I can't find Lucas, or Nancy, and Mike's in California. I say.
"Shit, shit, shit, shit," Dustin panics.
"Dusty where you going?" His mom asks in a worried tone.
"To a friend's." He lies.
"You heard the news!--- It's not safe!" Dustin's mother says.
"Great pount, we'll be extra careful, thanks mom, I love you, bye!" He says as he closes the door in a rush, as we walk out.[...]
