The moment Brian said that, Diana choke on her drink. She needed to drink again but she found her Perrier bottle shattered to pieces on her ground beside her orange pumps.
Why now? Why here? Why? The moment of truth spotlight was finally turned on Myra and Brian.
Myra changed her smile to a confused look.
"Chats on Myspace? I thought Diana said you don't have an account?"
"Myra, all popular people have one. How come you forgot all about it?"
"Forgot about it? I didn't even know you had one."
"So, if it wasn't you, then..."
Diana felt stares crawling on her back. She had to come on the stage, cool and innocent...for a while.
"Yo guys, why aren't you dancing?"
She put her arms on Myra and Brian. Brian shook it off.
"Diana, why did you lied to Myra that I don’t have a MySpace? Do you have anything to do with the Myspace chats I’ve told you about?"
Diana was expecting this later on. The moment of truth is now showing in 5, 4...oh, what the hell!
"Ok, I admit. I was the work behind the scenes. I was posing Myra on Myspace. It was all part of a plan I invented..."
"For what, Diana?" Myra asked angrily. She also shooked Diana's arm off, but more violently.
Now Diana was scared than before. But Brian still had that regular face with a hint of confusion. Diana explained with an aching pain in her chest and a heartbeat so loud anyone could probably hear through her push-up bra.
"But don't worry, it's not really the main reason. There's two more..."
"Sorry, Diana. Don't want to hear it. I've never been posed before, especially not from my neighbors. Your plan worked after all, trying to get rid of me. You could just ask, not set me up secretly with Brian. Anyway," Myra slowly turned to Brian. "It was really nice spending time with you. It meant a lot." She turned back, with an cold stare for Diana, "I will never forgive you. Good bye, Diana." Myra stomped her way out. Her
friends wanted to follow her but she threatened them not to.
Diana and Brian stared at where Myra left. Diana couldn't believe what she has done. Her plan actually failed. She thought the pain of losing her seat was the biggest pain in the world, next to breaking up with a lover, but the lost of a good friend stabbed her more than ever. At the moment on, her being popular meant absolutely nothing.
"Diana, what were the other two?"
She turned facing Brian, surprised that he wasn't mad at her.
"Well, you see Brian. Myra liked you since she arrived at Yosemite. So I was going to get you both set up and that will make Myra popular. And most importantly, Myra and I keeping our friendship lasting forever. I knew it was going to turn out like this. I feel more rejected now than I did the first day of the rumor."
"Diana, honestly, your plans are thought well through but it's common. Nothing gets turned out like they always do. So for your next plan, don't get your hopes too high. Thanks to you, in a good way, I’ve begun to like Myra more than ever before. My emotions are mixing up in my head. I don’t care about what just happened. I just want Myra back. There's nothing that's going to stop me."
Diana was sure he was kidding. If he was going to get Myra he will have to pass through Tiffany. Nothing gets into her way.
"I am going to talk to her. Diana, you keep Tiff out of the way. By the way, Happy New Year." Diana smiled as he left.
“Let’s hope the new year will be happy, though.”
