Brian found Myra crying outside as she watched the fireworks from the city hall explode in the blue-black sky.

"Myra!" he called.

Myra only looked behind her shoulder but never turned around. She quickly looked away in disappointment. He then walked up to Myra and slowly placed a hand on her shoulder. She turned to face him, her eyes red and full of tears.

"What do you want, Brian? If you here to throw all of your crap on me, I'm ready." "No Myra. There's something you should know by now. Diana really want to save her friendship with you and wanted to set us up together. Those were the other two reasons. She doesn't really care about her status that much anymore, neither do I." "But why? Isn't being popular the most valuable thing you could hold on to in Yosemite?" Myra asked with curiosity.

Brian sighed and confessed, "Not when you're in love or in Diana's case, when you have a friend that looks upon you."

"When you're in love? You mean..." Myra shooked her head in disbelief. "I knew this was coming. Say no more, Brian. I'm sick and tired of being humiliated. I just want to be alone, ok? Right now, I wish I was back at my old school where I didn't have this kind of drama."

"If you were moving back, then Diana and I would feel like rejects without you."

"You're just saying that. How can you suddenly fall for me? There are rules that you have to abide."

"But I don't always have to. When there's something, or someone, that you really want, then you would go all the way to get it. The rules are nothing. Myra, you've liked me though you knew I was one of them. Didn't you just break a rule?"

Myra started to say something but nothing came out. Brian was right, and she stood corrected. She slowly looked up to him.

"Myra, I don't want to be together so that Diana would be happy. I want us to be together because we want to, and I really want to be with you, even if it means losing my seat."

"But you..."

Brian put his finger on her lips. "Shush. Like I said, I don't give a care about my status."

He saw the reaction on her face and smiled.

"What do you say, amor?"

Brian and Myra hugged each other while the grand finale of fireworks began.

"Whoa, I didn't know you can speak Spanish."

"I rarely do."

"No shit. Diana never told me... Oh, I need to go apologize to her!"

"Ok, girl. Be careful of Tiff," Brian called out as he watched the person that truly changed him go pass the school doors.
