Tae's grip on Mew's arm was so tight that it almost hurts. Tae noticed Mew's wincing and let go his arm. "We can't have you going around running your mouth." Tae said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Well, then you've got a lot of explaining to do." Mew said, rubbing the pain away.
Tae sighed and motioned to the housemaid. "Take them to the drawing room, we'll be there soon. Also, please be sure that neither of them leave the premises."
"Understood, Young master." The maid bowed. She motioned for Mew and Bright to follow her and led them inside to a spacious drawing room.
'With how massive this house is, I'd probably get lost if I tried to leave..' Mew thought.
"The young masters will be with you shortly. Please make yourselves comfortable." The maid bowed and took her leave, closing the door with a resounding click.
"Do you think they'll take long?" Bright asked, fidgeting with his fingers.
"I don't know. It depends on what they want to talk about, I suppose." Mew replied, gazing at the paintings hanged on the wall.
"I honestly don't understand how you're able to be so calm right now. What're you thinking about?" Bright asked, looking at his friend.
Mew shifted his gaze from the painting and looked at his friend, "There's so much going on in my head, I don't even know what to think."
He started pacing back and forth, "I don't have problem keeping this whole thing a secret, but what if they're careless and someone at school finds out? We might have to disband for real!"
Bright rolled his eyes, "I think the club disbanding is the last thing you'd have to worry about in that case."
Mew panicked when the thought of disbanding the club emerged in his mind, "We need a way out! I think they locked the door." He checked the window and noticed that they're above an awning.
"I think we can jump out from here." Jiggling the latch to the window, Mew was disappointed to find that it doesn't open. "I guess I could just break the window?"
"Mew, I think you might be taking this a little too far.. I'm sure nothing bad will happen to us." Bright rushed to Mew and led him back to the couch.
"You're probably right, but.." Mew worried his lips.
Bright shook his head, "I'm pretty sure it won't come to that. Why don't we just let them explain themselves and go from there?"
His words help ease Mew's nerves.
"You're right.." Mew sighed.
He noticed it's been quite a while since they were brought to the room, "Wow, these guys sure like to take their sweet time, huh?"
Bright shrugged his shoulders at that.
Mew bit his lips in thought, "Hey, wait.. If we entered a competition, is being a merman considered cheating?"
"Mew..!!" Bright gaped at his friend, unamused.
Before Mew could voice any more of his thoughts, the door opened. Tae, Earth and Tul filed in. They closed the door and sat down across from Mew and Bright.
They sat in silence, staring at eachother, waiting for someone to say something.
'Well, this isn't awkward at all.' Mew sighed.
