The first relationship

The start of everything was a giant explosion, where there first was nothing. Light, heat, darkness. Things filled the void. And then, a young girl appeared, wandering across this new universe. She felt lonely, terribly lonely. She had no idea who she was, or where. She walked and walked until the time she met another young girl. As an opposition to her golden hairs, those of the girl was darker than the emptiness. Both shocked by this encounter, they first stayed silent. Then, seeing that the black haired girl was even more shy, the first one talked.

"Um, Hi!"

The other looked at her feet.

"You.. know how to talk, right?"

"Yes.." she said, in a calm and timid voice. "I thought I was alone."

The golden haired girl smiled at her.

"Don't worry! We are the same, aren't we? We don't know anything about ourselves! Let's be friends!"

Hearing this, the other girl had the most beautiful smile that the universe would ever see. Both of them spent thousands of years playing together, exploring what was.
Then the first girl saw a weird light, far away. Way more curious than her friend, she convinced her to go there. On a weird planet, was a weird little thing. This, as a first, was alive. When it saw the golden haired girl, the thing thanked her.

"I know who I am." Slowly said the girl. She was stupefied by what she understood. " I'm Life!"

Life jumped and hugged her friend. She was happy for her, although a bit jealous. But happiness disappeared quickly. The weird living thing looked at the second girl and collapsed. Both girls looked, horrified, at the dead corpse. But, while Life was crying, the other took the body with her hands. She spoke to her friend, one last time, in a very sad voice.

"I'm Death."
