In this chapter I included a girl who stutters, I just included her because I feel like people who naturally stutter aren't really written in. I would hope that this doesn't offend anyone in any type of way but if it does I am very sorry.

_______________

"Welcome to our Library, how may I help you on this fine day." You smile brightly at the two teens who walk in.

The two teens begin whispering to each other.

"You talk to her, y-you know I don't know h-how to talk to people," one whispers.

"I don't either." the other whispers back.

You rest your elbows on the counter setting your chin in your hands, watching the teens whisper you smile thinking about how that used to be you and your friend.

"You know I used to be just like you guys, I wanted to talk to people so badly but I never could, no matter how hard I tried."

The bell rings signalling to you that someone has entered the library. You pay no mind to the person, instead, you keep your mind on the teens.

"R-Really?"

"Yep! But the more I visited the library the more I spoke with the librarian! Then I got the courage to talk to more people at the library!" you say happily.

"Wow, that's so cool!"

"Y-Yeah, I wish I-I was that cool."

"Try coming here more often, it really helps!"

"Ok! Maybe we can come here every day after school!!"

"A-And after we finish our h-homework, of course."

"She has a bit of a stutter, don't pay any mind to it."

The girl nudges her friend with her elbow.

"Hey, y-you didn't need to point i-it out."

"Oh, if I'm being honest I didn't even notice." you shrug.

"Oh, by the way, I'm Delilah and this is my friend Artemis!"

"No way!! Like the Greek goddess Artemis?!!"

You picture that you have a bow and arrow in your hand and draw it back and set it free letting it fly into one of the isles of the books.

"Y-Yeah, my mom was o-obsessed with the tales of the G-Greek goddesses." she smiles.

"I love them too!! I love how much power they're given even as women!" you fantasize.

"And Delilah, I have a question for you." you look at Delilah.

"Uh ok, what is it?"

"Did your parents name you after the song 'Hey there Delilah'?"

"Yep!"

"Oh my gosh, I love that song!!" you clap energetically.

"Anyway, let me stop taking up all of your guys' time, you obviously came here for something, and I'm pretty sure I can help!" you rest your arms on the counter in front of you.

"Oh yeah! Artemis and I wanted to check out some mystery books!" her mood perks up.

"Oooh, right down my alley, follow me." you lead them to the thriller/mystery aisle.

"Seems like the arrow led us in the right direction." you pull out the imaginary arrow from the bookshelf and twirl it between your fingers.

The girls giggle at your silliness.
