• Bughead having to deal with a miscarriage
• grief
• mention of depressive episode, starving, selfharmBetty and Jughead were happy. Everything was finally working out. They were together. They almost graduated and were on their way to college. They solved their last case in Riverdale. And then, two months ago, she told him some of the greatest news.
Jughead sat on his bed, pondering about whether to call her or not. In the end though, he picked up his phone again and called her. One time. A second time. And a third time. She didn't even answer the fourth time. Groaning, he swung off his bed and swiftly grabbed his motorcycle keys before driving over to the Cooper's house. He parked it in the driveway to the garage and then walked over to the door, knocking on it.
The door swung open. Alice Cooper.
"Oh, hello, Jughead" she mumbled, rolling her eyes.
"Good evening, Mrs. Cooper," he just needed to be polite for some more "is your daughter home?"
"No, sorry, bye"
She shut the door in front of his face.
So the window must do.
Jughead grabbed the ladder from Archie's garage and steered it over to the Cooper house, holding it onto the house wall as quietly as possible so that Alice wouldn't notice anything. Once being as close to Betty's room as possible, he started the climb. He saw her sitting on her bed, staring at the mirror on her desk. Smiling unsure, he knocked on the window. Her head whipped around, smiling unsure as well. She hesitated, though then got up and opened the window, careful to not hit his head on the go. He ducked and then climbed in with her help. As soon as he was inside, and standing, he engulfed her in his arms, pressing her tight to his chest.
"Uhm... Juggy? What are you doing...?" she asked unsure, nevertheless hugging him back.
"You ask me that? You just left for three days without warning me. Did something happen?"
"What? No. No, nothing is wrong. Everything is okay, what should be wrong?" she rambled and her boyfriend chuckled.
"Well, first of all, you just ignored me, without any sign before. You didn't answer a text or call. Secondly, how you just reacted. And worst of all: You weren't in school. So either you are terminally ill or something like that or... you want to break up with me, that's also a possibility"
"I do not want to break up with you" she clarified, smiling as she stilled her fidgeting fingers "you know damn well that you make me the happiest person on earth"
"So that leaves the first option. What's wrong?" he asked, still hugging her "You had a doctors appointment on Friday, you told me about that. What happened there? Did he tell you something?" Betty sighed, untangling herself from him and stepping away, hands travelling up to her neck and resting her head back. Jughead furrowed his brows, smile disappearing.
"Something is wrong. What's up? What happened?"
"Oh stop worrying, Jug, please. You make us worry too" they both froze.
"'Us'...?"
"Yeah..." she walked over to him, the soft smile returning as she reached for his hand, slowly guiding it to her belly. Jughead looked at her puzzled, not wanting to hope when it wasn't even sure "us, as in me... and the baby, our baby" Betty whispered, biting her bottom lip as she waited for his reaction.
"We... You are pregnant...?"
"Yeah... that's what the appointment was for, to make sure"
"We are getting a baby?"
