Hey everyone. Sorry for not publishing as much as I used too. I say sorry when this is a normal fanfiction writers schedule, haha. I guess that's what you guys like about me, my consistency in writing. I've had a rough couple of days but I'm going to try to get back into writing, and hopefully slap writers block across it's face. :)
Henry
I decided on taking the long way home, which is the back way, through the woods, that go past the lab.
The lab where everything started. Where I was experimented on, tortured, and traumatized at such a young age. Man, Ms. Millers grammar class really has been paying off. I play with the rocks on the ground as I walk.
I've been thinking of her nonstop all day, and how much I wished she'd allow me to go to the police station and obliterate the guys who tried to hurt her - who touched her.
"001, is that you?"My heart stops. No. I can't even look up. There isn't even a point in looking up because I already know who it is.
"Stay away from me. Wherever you are." I murmur, my eyes glued on the ground. How I think this is going to protect me, I don't know.
Finally I look up and see him inside of the gate. So I have a little bit of protection, atleast.
"001, I heard you've.. gotten yourself into quite a predicament a few days ago at the burger king." Brenner crosses his arms, looking at me.
"I don't know what you mean."
"Don't play dumb, 001. I taught you better then that."
"No, you taught me nothing good."
"001, I have eyes and ears everywhere in this town, including at the local burger king, yes. Do you think just because you got new clothes I wouldn't be able to recognize my own child?"
"I am not your child!" I growl, clenching my fists together to stop myself from doing something I know I'll regret.
"I know where you are staying. I know where to find you if something like that happens again. I cannot have the government finding out about you and your abilities." His teeth grind together.
This man really is a sadist.
He has to be lying about knowing where I'm staying. He can't know about Heather.
"This girl," he grabs a piece of paper out of his pocket, holding up a older picture of Heather, probably a yearbook photo, "Do you really think getting her involved is the best idea?" He points at the paper. He's just doing this to scare me. "Henry, if you can't control yourself, you're going to have to come back here. Do you want that to happen?" No.
"You must really like her. Your eyes haven't left this piece of paper since I took it out of my pocket."
I feel like my jaw tighten. "Do not hurt her." I look back up to him, and he does a small smile.
I turn on my feet and walk away before I do something I'll regret. "February 7th." He calls out.
"What?" I turn back around. "February Seventh."
"What about February Seventh?"
"Unless you're under control by then, I'm going to make sure you're back in here."
I don't know how much longer I can lie to grandma, nor keep Henry here. Trust me, I love him being here. I love waking up to him on the floor, next to me, and I love going to sleep not alone. I love when he sporadically kisses me, surprising me.
But I hate lying to my grandma. I hate having to avoid my friends because I don't want them to see me hurting.
"Heather?" Dustin says through my walkie-talkie. Forgot to turn that damn thing off. I stand up, walking over to it. "Heather, I know you're hurting, but you need to know we're here for you. I'm here for you. We're your best friends, always, and I don't want you to forget that." He quickly blurts out.
"I love you."
