He doesn't even stay on the ground for a second before he grabbed my hand. "Huh, we're doing a lot of hand grabbing today, aren't we-" His other hand goes over my mouth and he grabs my arm and pulls me with him. I try to say he's hurting me but it only came out in muffles. There was a door that had EMERGENCY ONLY above it right next to us, but it didn't trigger any alarms, so Steve and Robins boss wouldn't be mad at them and possibly fire them.
He pushes open the door and I push him as he lets go of me. "Fuck you, you were hurting me! What in the hell was that back there?" I ask, feeling heat rise in my body, and not the good kind.
"I'm sorry for hurting you Heather, I just didn't want to be in that room anymore." He tries to explain why he was acting like a total psycho."If you want me to forgive you for leaving a red mark on my arm because God forbid you have the most.. muscular arms," I point to his arms and he raises an eyebrow, "Then you're going to have to tell me more than just 'i didn't want to be in there anymore.' I scoff.
"Look, we can't talk about this right now."
"No, we can't talk about anything personal or about you ever. I hardly know anything about you, Henry, and you're staying in my house!" I throw my hands up in the air.
"Oh, is that why you invited me to stay with you, because you wanted to... Manipulate me into telling more about myself?" He retorts back, stepping closer to me, in which I step backwards. "No, that is not why. But a damn good reason."
"Heather, look. I can't tell you about myself because there is not much I can explain in words." He sighs, lowering his voice to a soft tone. "That is such bullshit, Henry!" I scoff, putting my hands behind my head and looking up at the sky. "Oh, and by the way, it's six. So wherever you wanted to take me too, it's time." I cross my arms. "Look, I'll tell you everything, Heather. You just need to follow me." He looks at me and I look at him. "Do you trust me?" He asks, holding out his arm. I look at it and then look back at him. "I shouldn't." But I grab his hand anyways.
-
"Look Henry I don't understand why you have to take me on the damn train tracks to tell me who you are," I complain, nearly tripping. "Do you trust me?" He asks once again. "Well, the only thing I'm weary on is why you couldn't let me say goodbye to my friends back at family video, but yeah other then that I completely trust you." I shrug, half-way being sarcastic. He stops, putting his hands on my shoulder and turning me towards him., "I can tell you this much. The government has eyes and ears everywhere." Is all he says.
I think. "What do you mean? The United States government or the Hawkins government?"
"The Hawkins government."
"The lab."
He slowly nods his head.
"That's why you're taking me to the middle of nowhere.""I know this is sketchy, Heather, but I just don't know where else to take you." He sighs. "I don't know, maybe my house? Don't think the government is listening there."
He doesn't say anything, he just continues with that akward staring he does. "Let's just get this over with." I grab his hands.
"Since I'm about to tell you top-secret stuff, tell me something about you." He begins walking on the opposite train track I am walking on, and we're like trying to balance while holding hands.
I recognize the heat from his hands, I just don't say anything."Well, what do you want to know?" I ask. "Why do you live with your grandma instead of your parents like everyone else here?"
Oh come on, literally ANYTHING else."I don't know," I shrug. "Heather." He looks over to me with a serious look. "Well, my father was a drunk who died because of it, leaving me to my mom who's also a drunk, and not just that but a druggie who's probably in the hospital right now but I don't care." I say all super fast, so I'm shocked he actually understood any of it. "Don't say that. You do still care." Is all he says.
"Yeah, Henry, because I still care about someone who neglected Me and let her own boyfriend not me. God, fucking Adam, her boyfriend who tried to become my stepdad but I didn't like that so he started hitting me. Can't forget about him." I look off into the forest and see the beginning of a massive building. I tilt my head up and see it rising up with the trees. "Is this it?" I ask, looking down to him. "Yes," he nods, letting go of my hand as he continues walking, even faster this time.
We finally reach this probably abandoned junkyard, and it was getting dark so he started a campfire.
We sit down across from eachother.-
shorter chapter but the next one will be longer i promise </3
