Max's pov:
I opened my eyes and found myself in a room. Everything was still blurry. I looked outside a widow to see that it was still dark. I looked around and started recognizing the place.
"Hey butthead, your girlfriend's awake" Erica yelled.
"Shh Erica! Don't wake the parents!" he whispered yelled to his sister.
"Max are you okay? I was outside and I saw you just laying there unconscious. Did something happened?" he asked worried.
"I'm fine Lucas. Nothing happened, go back to your girlfriend and leave me the hell alone." I harshly responded. I got up and fell down.
"Shit that hurts" I said under my breath. Lucas took me and placed me on his bed. He asked his sister to leave them and after quite a few minutes of Erica making jokes about what was gonna happen in his room, she finally left. Lucas sat in front of me on his bed. I was looking had my hand fidgeting, he took them in his.
"Look at me Max." he said. I lifted my head up and saw him looking at me in the eyes. I hated when he did that, he could see right through me. I tried to resist but I couldn't help it, I started crying. He took in his arms and hugged me tightly. My back was against his stomach and my head against his chest. I was sobbing and he was whispering things to me while touching my hair. Once I calmed myself down a little, I looked at him and gave him a weak smile.
"Sorry I...I gotta go." I tried to get up but he retained me. "Let me go Lucas." I harshly said. He still didn't I forced him to let go, got up and fell again.
"What happened to your head?" he asked.
"I fell down my skateboard." I lied.
"Max don't lie. I know you, you're lying. If you don't wanna tell me it's okay but at least stay the night. I'll sleep on the couch but please don't go home. Not in this state" he ordered.
"Fine" I spoke rolling my eyes. I went back on his bed. "Do you have a short and a t shirt please? This is not really comfortable." I said pointing at my jean. It nodded and gave me some. I got change and went back to bed. He waved me good night and left me. I fell asleep to find my normal routine which was flashbacks of Starcourt's incident and life at home with Billy and without him.
Lucas's pov:
I heard a scream, a loud scream. My parents are not light sleepers so it didn't wake them and the same goes for my sister. But I heard it. I checked on my parents and my sister, it wasn't them. I entered my room and has I feared it was Max who screamed. She was laying on my bed breathing heavily, soaking wet, crying and twisting herself in all directions. I laid on the bed and took her in my arms, she didn't stop twisting. I held her even more then suddenly she woke up letting out an heavy inhale.
"Billy, Billy, Billy..." she said out of breath. I took her back to my chest and hugged her. Her head was resting on my arm. I felt tears dropping and heard her silent sobs.
"Thank you." she said her voice shaking.
"Hey I'm here. I'm always here." I said trying to reassure her.
"Except when you're with your girlfriend." she muttered under her breath.
"What girlfriend?" I asked confused.
"Elena. She told me that you were super into her and that..." she said but stopped.
"And what?" I asked even more confused.
"That you were glad we broke up and that I was awful to you but I get it don't try to explain" she coldly responded.
"What no you told her that." I harshly said.
