Lucas's pov:
I looked at Max's multiple bruises my heart breaking each time my eyes saw one. She had this mix of fear and stress in her eyes. I saw Neil now in the room looking at me than her for a second. I walked in front of her, if he was gonna hurt her he needed to get rid of me first.
"Get out Lucas" Max whispered calmly trying to step in front of me. I blocked her way.
"No if he's gonna hurt someone it will be me." I coldly responded.
"So he knows?" Neil declared with a smirk on his face. "You know what's gonna happen" he whispered rage filling his eyes.
Max grabbed my hand and made us jump out the window before he could do anything. She took my bike and I hoped behind her. She started peddling really fast, I turned around to see Neil getting in his car.
"Shit, shit, shit!" she yelled. She peddled even faster, she was going into the forest, where Neil couldn't follow us. He got out of his car and ran towards us. The leaves and the branches were slowing us down so we abandoned the bike and ran as fast as possible to the nearest house we knew, the Byers's house. We wildly opened the door and slammed it behind us. In the leaving room was Steve, Robin, Eddie, Nancy, Jonathan, Will, Dustin, Mike and El, great full house. I saw Max collapse onto the ground. She was tired and hurt, I laid her on the couch.
"What the!" Dustin yelled.
"Don't ask" I replied quickly. They looked at her all in shock, they were mumbling stuff to each other until we heard a knock. Suddenly Max eyes wildly opened and she took a bat in the corner of the room ready to knock someone out.
"I'll get it, y'all shut your mouths" Nancy ordered.
"Hi is my daughter here?" Neil asked. I took Max and hid her behind the couch with all of us. She wasn't crying, she was sad. She was resting strong, a daring look in her eyes. She was afraid for us I knew it.
"Who's your daughter?" Nancy asked nicely.
"Maxine Mayfield. About 160cm, red head with blue eyes..." he started.
Nancy's pov:
I looked at Neil, I knew who he was I just wanted to know what he would say. I looked at him, rage was in his eyes and add an empty bottle of whisky that he was holding very tightly. I remembered that night when Max came to my house before her date which is odd that she didn't prepared at home, she also had a huge bruise on her back and I know that none of her friends would do that to her, plus, he came not long after the two teens barged into the house and Max was injured. Something was definitely wrong and it was probably related to that man, I couldn't let him know that she was here.
"Oh yeah she goes to school with my brother, I didn't saw her this morning is she okay?" I asked innocently trying to be as less suspicious as I could be.
"Oh yeah she was just tired so I let her take a break" he said scanning the room from the entry of the door.
"Well I didn't saw her sorry" I smiled.
"Okay do you know where she could be? I'm very worried about her" he said "sweetly".
"No sorry I don't know her that much" I replied.
"Okay sorry for the bother" he apologized and went away. I closed the door and waited for him to be far enough.
Max's pov:
"What the fuck is going on here!" Dustin yelled.
"Yo dude chill" Steve calmly said. "Max would you care to explain why you're in that state?" he nicely asked worried.
