Year 8: The twat in the locker room

Darcy's pov

Remember that twat Tara and I had encountered in the locker room last year? The one who had asked if Tara was a lesbian? Yeah, I met here again.

Though, today, I was alone in the locker room. And she was targeting me alone, because she was speed walking towards me and since I was standing in a corner, I had literally no escape.

"Hi," she said a little out of breath, "Remember me?"

I raised my eyebrows at her.

"Right," she said, "it would have been better if you didn't though."

I shut my locker a little too forcefully, "What do you want?"

"Oh," she said, suddenly straightening her shirt, "uhm, I wanted to, uhm...say sorry."

I rolled my eyes, "Sorry, can't forgive you. You outed me to my friend without my permission."

"Oh," revelation struck her face, "so, she did not know?"

"Nope."

"Oh, I'm so so sorry." She really did look sorry so I sighed, "Fine. I don't care. Whatever. Just leave."

"Can't we, like..." she looked at me hesitantly, "Nothing. I- I should go."

Then she spun on her heels and practically ran away. She has got to be the queerest girl I have ever seen in my life.

Unfortunately, she wasn't the only twat I encountered in the locker room that day. As I was leaving, my arms piling with thick books threatening to fall off at any moment, I found a couple of girls giggling and peeking at me.

I frowned at them.

"Your girlfriend has cheated on you," one of them said.

"What?" I said. Did I have a girlfriend I did not know of?

"She kissed Nick Nelson in the party," one of the meaner ones said, emitting a ripple of giggles from the others. It took me a minute to process who they were talking about.

"Are you talking about Tara?" I said.

"Yeah, didn't she tell you she was going to Harry's party on Saturday night?" the first girl said. Another wave of giggles.

For the first time I didn't say anything. Actually, I did not know what to say. I just walked away not knowing what to feel.
