Summary:
Hyunjung has been hers through every twist, every tear, and every confession only the stars would ever know about.
Jiyeon, for one, couldn't really tell how she got herself tangled into blue and red strings or at which point the purple in her chest became fond of the silver in her hands.
They had a lot in common. They had a lot of differences. But if loving each other was the dead end none of them were ready to crash into, then loving Juyeon was the closest to heaven they would ever have the chance to be - and at least about that they wouldn't argue.
Part I
introduction to a very happy triad
Son Juyeon was a charmer.
That much anyone with functioning eyes could tell from a mile away and if she made the traffic stop with a mere smile of hers, caused people to fall face-first on the ground due to being distracted by her beauty or ignited chaos just by breathing and gracing those poor mortals with the sight of her in her glorious beauty, well... That was just a side effect.
Still, it wasn't all that hard to guess that Hyunjung and Jiyeon, as her closest friends and girlfriends, would have a slightly different experience with such a phenomenon.
Because you see, it was one thing to be struck by the arrows of fleeting passion or slip into the temptations of sudden lust when one knows it isn't supposed to last more than a bunch of seconds, a few minutes at best. They've all been there and Jiyeon, especially, was long trained into identifying genuine interest in the loose flirting and suggestive actions. However, the people who tripped while looking at Juyeon as she rushed to work, as well as the people who would kill to have a chance, no matter how big or small, to be under her sweet attention didn't know the things they knew, and if the rest of the world moved to the verge of collapsing every time Juyeon did something as simple as breathing, then they would all disintegrate had they have the chance to see what Hyunjung and Jiyeon saw every damn morning.
And in Jiyeon's opinion, there wouldn't be any survivors to tell the story.
"Blue button up or white button up?"
Juyeon asked as she stood in front of the mirror with two hangers in hand, her distracted frown being just as devastating as the subtle pout she directed at her indecision, and though she wasn't the only one who had to get ready to leave in less than a couple hours, the ever head over heels Hyunjung and the ever weak Jiyeon didn't have any intentions of leaving their spots on the bed as long as the youngest of them was still there.
Fresh out of the shower.
A bit sleepy.
Bare faced.
Oblivious to how her skin looked from where her girlfriends were.
Shirtless.
Hyunjung sighed, feeling Jiyeon do the same against her lap. "You look good with anything, Juyeonnie."
"You always say the same thing," she grumbled and her pout grew.
Cute.
"There's a reason for that, no?"
"Yeah, but just that won't solve my problem."
Her sulky whining died down once indecision demanded her focus again, Hyunjung and Jiyeon not moving an inch to help for the sake of enjoying the show of Juyeon's muscles under the sunlight for a while longer, drowning in the warmth of a routine they never imagined to be this good and fulfilling despite its simplicity but which showed itself to be just right for them, just what they had needed all along; just what they could have possibly wished since the very beginning.
"Blue button up, Juyeonnie," Jiyeon surrendered at last, sighing harder when the taller one turned to her in doubt. "It'll match the rest of what you've already chosen and you'll look great with it, anyway. Right?"
Jiyeon looked up to Hyunjung, who looked down at her in response.
The soft smile they shared in that silly second was mirrored by Juyeon even if none of them realized it then.
"Right."
"So blue it is," Juyeon declared with a half relieved, half joyful tone, placing the other piece in her part of the closet to move on with her morning and unintentionally ignore the traces of distaste in her girlfriends' faces as she left the room. "You two better get ready too, or else you'll be late!"
Hyunjung closed her eyes in light annoyance at the screamed warning, scowling at the younger one's energy this early while Jiyeon forced herself to sit only to end up leaning towards Hyunjung's shoulder before she could stop it, another scream coming to haunt them right after as if on cue.
"She's a mystery," Jiyeon said with fondness dripping from her every pore, her fingers intertwining with Hyunjung's in that magnetic urge they couldn't resist.
"She's the life of the party," Hyunjung gave back with a deep exhale, leaving a kiss on the crown of Jiyeon's head before pressing a chaste, yet firm, kiss on her lips. "And as such, she won't give us peace if we don't move, like, immediately."
"What a responsible one we got to ourselves."
It was Jiyeon's turn to grumble though the affection she reserved solely for the younger one was pretty much there still, and Hyunjung limited herself to a nod and a consoling pat on Jiyeon's back as they, indeed, followed Juyeon's commands, knowing that being late was out option given the number of mishaps both of them had lately and that, if this wasn't enough encouragement, losing a well-spent breakfast with their girlfriend was a complete no-no if they wanted their moods to be safely steady for the rest of the day.
That, of course, didn't mean that getting off to work or letting Juyeon leave was any easier of a task for them. Perhaps that was why Juyeon was so insistent on waking up earlier than necessary and getting everything ready beforehand because of course Jiyeon would take any chance to steal a peck from her and Hyunjung would glue by her side as if breathing far from her was impossible and that, as an obvious consequence, would slow things down.
Of course Jiyeon would take it as her personal duty to button Juyeon's shirt up and fix her clothes with false seriousness just to make both her and Hyunjung chuckle, hiding her immoral intentions behind that defiant grin she couldn't let go of but failing at being as subtle with her soft hums towards Juyeon's laugh. And, yes, of course Hyunjung would kiss Juyeon until that lopsided grin appeared to shoot Jiyeon straight in the heart and push the oldest of them to use the remaining seconds of freedom available on kissing Juyeon's entire face to assure her that they would be together in a blink, that she would take care like she promised and that Jiyeon was safe in her hands.
And eventually, once the clock could no longer submit to their spoiled ways, Juyeon would leave in her perfectly aligned outfit and killer determination to bring light to those who stumbled upon her and make life a prettier trip to those who chose to be under her wing, still oblivious to the admiration Hyunjung held so closely for her, still oblivious to the way Jiyeon would mumble songs after songs in hopes that, somehow, her whispers would reach her and settle in Juyeon's mind just how loved she was by the two of them.
