Chapter 38- Forever

I've had enough of this.

I'm still getting irrelevant text messages form unknown numbers. It's getting so annoying.

In total I've gotten about 40 texts, And every time I get a new one, I get even more scared.

I don't know what this group of people is capable of. I just know that they aren't afraid to hurt me.

I shook these thoughts out of my head. I should be in a good mood today. Matt is taking me on a picnic date in the park.

I decided I should get ready since it was past noon and I was still in my pajamas.

I walked into my bathroom where all of my stuff was. I stripped myself of my clothing before stepping into the steamy shower and using my vanilla scented shampoo and matching body wash. Once I was finished, I stepped out and dried off before getting into my black leggings, a hot pink crop top that says 'Summer Love' with my black bandeau underneath, and lastly my black flats.

I blow dried my hair, and then straightened it until it was perfect. I quickly applied my makeup, which was just a simple concealer, mascara and eyeliner.

Once I was completely finished, I walked out of the bathroom and grabbed my phone and purse from my bedside table and left my hotel room.

I was meeting Matt at the park, so I went down the elevator to the lobby, and then left the large hotel.

It was extremely hot out. After walking about 5 steps I was already about to pass out. Lucky for me, the park is only across the street and around the corner.

I walked through the streets of Long Beach (A/N, yes they're in a different city now 😂), admiring its beauty. I love California more than anything.

I turned the corner after a couple blocks and started on a path that lead into the park.

Matt said he was going to be waiting by the splash park that they had for kids.

I walked around the park until I saw him sitting on a picnic blanket, with a big picnic basket in front of him.

I smiled and walked over to him. Once he saw me, he jumped up and wrapped his arms around me. He smelled sooo good.

He moved his head so that his mouth was right in front of my ear.

"You look beautiful baby" he lightly whispered.

I giggled and kissed his soft lips.

Once we let go, he pulled me onto the picnic blanket and sat down.

"So, I packed us sandwiches." He said randomly which caused me to laugh. He looked as if he was nervous. He chuckled and started pulling our lunch out of the basket.

Matt's POV

This date is going to be special. I'm giving something to Sophia to prove my love for her. I'm so excited and nervous.

I was going to wait until the end of the picnic to give it to her. That way the date will end perfectly.

Damn, she looked stunning today. She looked stunning everyday.

We sat and ate our sandwiches, staring into each other's eyes the whole time. It was magical..

We just finished lunch, and now it's time for the surprise and time to let my heart do the talking.

I pushed the picnic basket away from us and moved myself until I was face to face with her.

"I don't even know where to begin.. Sophia, you mean the world to me. You mean absolutely everything. I can't believe I got the opportunity to be with you and to be able to call you mine. I remember the first day we met. We were sitting on the bus on our way to San Francisco. You looked so prefect, and I knew that I had to make a move. We flirted the whole time." I chucked as I thought about everything that happened that day. I continued..

"I liked you instantly. As silly as that sounds, it's true. I felt an instant spark when I first met you. I don't know what it was about you, but I couldn't help falling for you Sophia." She looked like she was almost in tears.

"Everyday I ask myself how did I get so lucky to be able to call you mine. You don't understand how many times a day I ask myself this. And I don't think I'll ever find the answer. Sophia.. There are seven billion smiles in the world and yours is my favorite. Every time you smile I swear the room lights up. Besides your beauty, you have a big heart Soph. You care about everybody. You don't judge people by their looks, you look for what's on the inside and that makes me so proud. You're so easy to love Sophia. There's so many reasons to love you that I can't count them."

I took a deep breath, trying not to tear up as well. I'm so glad I'm finally alone with her and I can finally pour my heart out to her.

"We've been through the negativity, the mistakes, the fights and we've only come off stronger. Our relationship has dealt with so much already, but it only made me love you more. So what I'm trying to say is.. I've fallen so hard for you that I don't think I'll ever be able to get up. I want to be able to call you mine forever."

That's when I pulled out the forever ring. I know most people give promise rings but I thought this made more sense in our relationship. We've made many promises, but this ring symbolizes that I want to be with her forever.

The ring was silver and it was shaped as the infinity sign. And in the inside it says "This is forever, Sophia Johnson."

I held it up and slowly placed it on her finger, as I watched her let all of the tears soak her cheeks.

"This is forever, Sophia Johnson." I repeated after she read it.

She stood up and jumped into my arms, letting all of her tears sink into my shirt.

Sophia's POV

I love him. I love him. I love him. I love him.

Those were the only words going through my mind right now. I can't believe he did this for me.

I was still in his arms, literally being carried. He was holding my legs up while my arms wrapped around his neck. Once I was calmed down enough to say it, I pulled my head off of his shoulder and said the only words that felt right.

"Matthew Espinosa, I am in love with you."

Haha I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, it was probably my favourite chapter so far.
