Narrator-
Cara looked at Jason, and Dante did the same, before sending a glance to catch her reaction. While she did her best to keep the distress off her face, Dante was still surprised that Jason agreed in the first place.
"Really?" Dante wondered, his tone slightly skeptic.
"Yes, while I wasn't interested in selling, if you're willing to consider my asking price, then I'm willing to accommodate you." Jason answered calmly.
"Well, that settles that then." Dante smiled brightly while opening his arms, before he stood up.
Jason stood up as well, and so did Henry and Cara.
"Thank you for hosting us this evening Jason." Dante greeted, shaking Jason's hand.
"It was a pleasure." Jason replied, then shook Henry's hand.
"And Cara, thank you for receiving us." Dante turned his attention to Cara, who smiled.
"Have a good evening." Cara greeted in return, before leading them towards the door.
"I will call you sometime this week to let you know when I'm coming by. I'll have instructions on how she is to dress and style her hair." Dante spoke to Jason while heading for the door.
"Alright." Jason said again, while Cara opened the door.
"I'll see you again soon Cara." Dante said to which Cara simply nodded and smiled, and he then bid her goodnight.
Cara closed the door after the gentlemen took their exit, and she turned around crossing her arms, while glaring at her debtor. It didn't occur to her that she was once again closed in alone with Jason, who at that time, was already seated behind his desk. Jason, feeling Cara's gaze on him, looked up with a bored expression.
He noticed Cara's hard eyes and defensive body language, and he knew that she had something to say.
"Is there a problem Miss Thompson?" Jason asked, before opening his laptop.
"I'm just wondering who gave you the right to pimp me around to whoever you wish." Cara didn't care to mince her words.
Jason paused and looked up.
"I'm sorry?" Jason voiced.
Cara felt like screaming. His calm demeanor and manners were getting under her skin. Why was he acting so darn polite, when he was also harsh and greedy?
"I don't want to go to the club with Dante." Cara referred with an angry frown.
"You're simply going there to keep him company." Jason clarified.
Cara wanted to roll her eyes. Of course he was talking to her as if she was dumb.
"Didn't you think to ask for my permission first?" Cara demanded while pointing to her chest.
At this, Jason straightened his spine. He leaned back in his chair, his eyebrows setting into a stern glare, while his eyes scrutinized the agitated woman.
"Need I remind you who is the boss here?" Jason said carefully, not wanting to have another battle with Cara at this hour.
Cara huffed. Of course. Her eyes ran with tears, but she didn't have time to cry. She had let Jason witness her vulnerability one too many times. She wouldn't give him that anymore.
"Fine." She said stiffly, then turned on her heels, ready to escape the office.
"Miss Thompson." Jason called out with a stern note, but not raising his voice.
