Narrator-
Cara gulped while staring into Jason's eyes. She knew he was serious, and she had no strength nor desire to hold onto her pride any longer, so with a droop in her shoulders, her body soften beneath Jason's strong physique.
"Jason, plea- what, what do you want from me?" Cara asked softly, while looking into his eyes through the mirror.
Jason's fingers tightened in her hair at the sound of her voice, and he pressed his mouth in her ear again and whispered while still holding eye contact, "The truth."
Cara sighed and licked her lips. She would try to be stubborn one last time. It's as if Jason read her mind, and before knew his, his hand pinched the skin of her hips, encouraging Cara to speak without holding back.
"Okay yes!" Cara suddenly belted out, "Yes I want you, yes I want to be with you. I belong to you. I thought it was clear even before I left. And I'm pissed that you let me walk away, more do than I was when I blamed you for my father's death. Damn it Jason, you're so damn stubborn, when all you had to do was keep me from walking away. Is that what you wanted to hear?" She spoke without pause until the final question.
Jason's eyes stared at Cara's through the mirror. He squinted his gaze suspiciously, as if he was expecting to detect a lie in her words, and yet he knew she was telling the truth. Jason said nothing. Instead he straightened himself off Cara's body. He walked around the bed and returned to mirror to it's original position. Cara watched him as much as her current position allowed her to. Then Jason returned to the opposite side of the bed and saw to removing the binding from around her wrists.
Cara straightened herself and rubbed at her wrists while looking at Jason. He stuffed his hands and his pockets, but said nothing of her declaration. Angry, aroused, sad, embarrassed, and feeling somewhat rejected by Jason's silence, Cara frown, but lifted her chin and turned to leave the room. Jason remained in his spot, but still watching Cara with his hands in his pockets.
He had finally gotten Cara to admit her feelings, but now, to test the theory, he waited to see what Cara would do.
Cara reached the door and her hand felt on the cool handle, and the contrast between hot and cold was so prominent, Cara feared she might have gotten a cold bite from the metal on the skin of her palm. Cara gulped, trying to hold onto her pride, and twisted the handle. She pulled the door open, then she suddenly stopped.
She pushed the door shut with a grunt, then she turned and faced Jason. He was staring at her with an intensity she had never seen in his eyes. Cara sighed, and leveled her gaze with Jason, then she walked towards him, only to brush past him and climb into his bed. She lifted the covers and cocooned her body beneath the covers, bringing them all the way up to her neck. Cara closed her eyes, ready to drift off to sleep.
Jason rolled his eyes as if Cara had to make everything difficult and complicated. He finally moved to turn off the lights in his room, then he headed to the other side of the bed and climbed in as well. Cara kept her back on Jason, and he remained still in his spot. Tired of Jason making her do all the work, Cara shimmed her body backwards until she was flushed at his side. Jason blinked, but still, he didn't move.
Cara released a frustrated tsk, then the sat on the bed and glared at Jason, even through the darkness. He stared back, and Cara could only guess the bored glare in his eyes. So, still without shame, Cara grabbed Jason's arm and put it around her hips, then she laid back down. As soon as she did so, Jason's hand tightened around her body, and he pulled her into his envelope, taking a whiff of the perfume on her skin, before he settled behind her, and together, they drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, Cara woke up to an empty bed. When she sat up, she noticed that Jason's side was already made for the day, aps she carefully removed herself from the bed, and also made her half of the bed. Cara looked around the room and even checked the bathroom, Jason was nowhere in sight. Sighing and shrugging, Cara decided to head back to her room. To her luck, when she walked across the platform, Marcell wasn't standing at the doors and couldn't see that she hadn't spent the night in her own bed.
