Halloween Night (NS POV)

I stood in my room looking over a map on my table, the moons outside shining into the room from my window. The nighting gales were singing their soft songs in the woods below, most of them syncing up together while others were quiet listening and waiting for their part in the song. They usually sang until the blue moon was below the horizon meaning it would be the time I had planned to head out. The map was for a large base where the two were staying, and they would most likely be awake. According to a clock had stolen from there it was almost 7 in the afternoon. The sun should be setting at that time, and from what my hounds told me they were all in the living room watching horror movies. A typical activity for mortals during late October month. I had seen a few of their Halloweens over the past decade, and it only seemed to be growing since the war they had been apart of had ended. Best of all, there was storm in the area meaning I could use a lightning strike to make it seem like the power was out.

Summoning the nightmarians to my room, I made sure they were the toughest ones just in case the two were capable of taking them down. I doubted it, but I still wasn't going to risk my less experienced ones on an attack. In the past I had only done this a few times, mostly to protect an area of forest I liked for myself, or to keep an Ex away from me. I opened a portal carefully, making sure it was the bottom level of the base, next to the generator. I made sure I was in the darkest corner of the room, the light only slightly burning. I could slightly hear them from there, the shadows around the room amplifying the sounds of the movie, light conversations of others, and the crunch of what I assumed was junk food. The generator looked a bit complicated, I wish I had time to study it better, but it was only a matter of time until they noticed I was there.

I waited until the storm was particularly bad and tampered with the generator, causing it to power down. The group above screaming in fright, then muffled arguing. I made sure they were all hidden, keeping my presence masked as thickly as possible. There was shuffling, the scuffling coming from the stairs, I reached out slightly with my mind, sensing it was the psychic cat. I made sure my reach was only a slight brush and pulled it back. She didn't seem to notice me, so I lay in wait, going silent. Then I noticed someone else, there was a bonded animal with her, coming down the stairs to investigate. I let my hounds aura spread into the room and hide in the darker corners of the furniter.

"Chaos, I need to remember to hit these hinges with some WD-40 next time I come down here. Thing sounds like a haunted house prop."

I could see them as they walked inside, but the cat stopped abruptly. She had sensed me, and knew exactly what I was. She was in a smaller form, probably easier for her to move around the base and easier to stay close to her bonded miobian, though I couldn't tell who that was. however her companion nearly tripped on her after she had stopped.

"Ack! What the hellrealm, Tigris? I almost squished you and broke something! You can't just stop like that, I can't see very well down here and you know it!" She had huffed as she kept her balance on a shelf.

"Bad. Bad. Very very bad." Tigris seemed to squeak out, her fear apparent.

"Hey." her companion tried to sound brave, but the state of the cat had rattled her somewhat. "It's all good, I think it's probably the electricity in the air you're feeling. I'll set the genny and we can be back upstairs in no time."

The girl slowly walked forward, then seemed to have an idea as she took out a modern phone, and shined it around the room. I could already see in the dark, but the sudden light stung slightly causing me to wince a bit in pain. My hounds swelled a bit, sensing my discomfort and sensing the twos fear. Tigris ran to her, but hid between her legs, a hissing growling ball of suspicion.

"Tig- what on Mobius is the matter with you?"

"Somethings here!" She growled, she had been able to sense my presence through the hounds, clearly she had more of a 6th sense then her companion, which struck me as odd.
