Backstory: she was born as Gwen Mullany into a family that was disliked by many people. They were rude to people they met and disapproved of magic that was not fire magic. G however was different. She wanted to befriend as many people as possible and loved plant magic. She met two girls named Rose and Alice. They were the nicest people she had ever met. She had a good time outside of home. But at home times were rough. She was forced to practice fire magic which led to her hands scaring and being hurt all the time. She was treated as worthless. Being the only child of the Mullany's was dreadful. Every day was pain. Soon both of her friends moved out of their hometown to Hydrangea Creek She grew depressed and had very low self-esteem. One day when her parents were gone, she went into the forest where she found a butterfly who spoke to her, telling her about the wonders of the forest, How the flowers and vines bloomed in the spring, and how there was an untouched guitar in a cave with flowers growing around it. She saw everything the butterfly had mentioned and thus her love for plants and music grew. She would visit the butterfly every day after her training. Being around the butterfly made her calm and happy. Just like when she was with Alice and Rose. They would sing songs and explore the beauty of the forest. But one day she went into the forest. Her parents hadn't been home for a lot of the day, and it was already the middle of the day. She couldn't wait any longer! As she made her way to the spot her butterfly friend usually met her, she stopped. Why wasn't it there? She walked around to the cave where she had found her guitar, but the butterfly wasn't there either. She decided to man up and head into parts of the forest she had never been. She walked deeper and deeper into the forest until she stumbled upon a willow tree with a tall, beautiful woman standing underneath it. Her white eyelashes fluttered open and closed almost like a butterfly. "Ah,G my child" The woman said to her "Uh, how do you know my name"? G questioned her. The woman laughed "might you remember the butterfly that always spoke to you"? She spoke. G became less tense at the mention of the butterfly. "Do you know where it is"?! She excitedly said. "I am the butterfly" the woman replied as wings sprouted from her. They were the same glassy beautiful ones the butterfly had "please, call me Naomi". G walked closer to the Naomi "woah!! You were really the butterfly?? How were you a butterfly before"? She said in wonder. The butterfly woman smiled softly at her "I have a unique magic which allows me to control butterflies. They in turn can control anything and everything" "WOAHHHHH!!! YOURAMAIZNGANDSOCOOLANDSTRONGIWANTTOBEJUSTLIEKYO-" the young girl got cut off by Naomi laughing "Thank you. But I would like to talk to you about something...you see, I must find a successor. Someone who is worthy of possessing powers as strong as mine must have a kind heart and be strong. And I believe you are worthy." The woman finished. G stood in shock "I'm worthy...how? I can't even do fire magic correctly..." she frowned. "That does not matter. What matters is that you have gone through so much and you had not given up. This is why I would like you to become my successor" Naomi grabbed G's hand "please, take this power and teach the future to be kind" Before G could say anything a swarm of butterflies flew over her blocking out Naomi from her view "What-" Just when they went away Naomi was gone. She looked up at the sky. it was starting to get dark "I gotta get home before mom and dad get mad" they quickly ran through the bushes and made it to the front door of her home. The door was unlocked. She stepped inside only to discover that everything was gone. It was empty. the only thing left was a note on the counter 'You are a disgrace of a child. you have no potential of magic.' G dropped the note. Tears flew down her face as she ran down to the forest again. of course, she was a disgrace to them. she was horrible. disgusting. she couldn't do magic and now she has these new powers that she doesn't even know how to use?! collapsed down at the willow tree as everything faded to black. The next thing she knows a woman with dark blue hair and blue skin is standing over her. The woman was Jenny Palmer a powerful and influential fighter who used water magic. She was respected and loved by almost everyone. G had always remembered Rose and Alice talking about her. Jenny explained to G that she had found them lying on the ground covered in dirt with tears in their eyes. G stayed for weeks after and son became a part of the family. She changed her name to G palmer. Her mom's later adopted another girl who became her sister. In this household you were allowed to practice any magic you wanted. Life was nice but G still held herself to being a perfect child. She didn't want to screw up anything out of fear of being abandoned again. She got a hold of her new unique magic but wasn't perfect at it. They stopped practicing fire magic and focused on plant magic, which they were much, much better at. the end i think
TLDR; she got born into a bad family who abused her, she met a cool butterfly who gave her powers, she got abandoned by abusive family, new cool witch ladies adopted her but she still is scared about abandonment
