As we stepped out of the mirror portal thing we stared in awe. The area we arrived in was a huge field with trees and a small creek running through the middle. A bridge went over the water and in the distance, there was a small worn down house. It looked as if it had been there for years. Pretty neat. We started walking towards the house and on the bridge. no fish were in the pond which was actually pretty sad. it didn't look like anything could really thrive here besides the plants. As I stepped on the dirt once again it felt mushy. It must have rained here from the last night.
"So this is dwarfs mine...It used to be so prosperous, Thanks to the magical crystal mining...."
I saw Grim's head-turning around as he shrunk a bit
"Uhhh...It feels like something could jump out" He continued to walk with us but I could tell he was slightly scared we finally made it to the small house and walked inside.
"Y'know this looks a lot like Ramshackle," I said jokingly.
Grim nodded "It really does"
Duece and Ace stared at us weirdly. guess it was an inside joke.
"Puwah! There's a spiderweb on my face"! Grim jumped around trying to get the spiderweb off his face.
I grabbed his shoulders and took off the spiderweb for him. I turned around from Grim and saw Ace staring at the table. I walked over to him
"Whatcha looking at"?
He pointed at the table "Arent the tables and chairs on the small side? Are they for kids"?
He started to count them "One...two...seven! So many"!
Duece came near us too "This was probably so lively when dwarfs mine was thriving"
I walked around a bit more, checking out the other parts of the house before speaking "We should head to the actual mine! I wanna check it out"!
I then grabbed Grim's hand and dragged him with me. Me and Grim walked hand in hand to what we think is the mine. A large tree grew over it. Rocks littered the ground. It surprisingly wasn't blocked off for all these years. We walked inside. Ace and Duece soon followed behind us as well. Grim shivered beside me
"W-were going into the pitch-black hole"? Grim said nervously.
"You scared"? Ace teased the poor cat hybrid.
"whhhhhhaaat?? No way I'm s-scared! I'm taking lead here follow me guys"!
Grim turned to me "G, can you make a plant that can light up"?
I nodded and smiled "Of course, I can"
I thought of a neonothopanus gardneri and lifted my hand up as the mushrooms slowly crept up on my hand. A bright green light emerged through the cave.
"Anyone still scared"? I said trying to make sure that we were prepared to head inside.
"A-A bit," Duece said quietly.
"Oh, do you need someone to hold your hand~," I asked teasingly
All of a sudden I felt something grabbing my empty hand. It was dueces own gloved hand
"I-o-okay" my face reddened as I clenched his hand in a comforting way.
"Lucky...." I heard someone whisper.
I turned my head around to just see Ace and Grim. We started to walk forward and deeper into the cave. As we walked into the next section, Duece suddenly stopped.
"Wait"!
"What is it"? I asked him
"Something...is here"!
"EEEEEK"! Grim squealed.
Soon two ghosts appeared in front of us. They looked similar to the ghosts in Ramschakle.
"Heeee hee hee! Our first visitors in ten years"!
"Make yourselves at home. For eternity".
We stepped back as Ace and Duece Took out their pens and pointed them at the ghosts "Let's take care of this"!

"This place is haunted by ghosts"!
More ghosts started to pop up left and right as Ace and Duece tried to ward them off.
"You guys can't handle every single one of them"! I said to them
"Let's just run for it"! Duece said after. Ace balled his fists "Don't think you can order me around! We wouldn't be in this mess in the first place if you hadn't done something so idiotic"!
'Great he's trying to start an argument
"You wanna talk about who started it? It's cause you wouldn't clean"! Duece pointed a finger at Ace
"Guys...Cant we just not fight right now..." Apparently, it didn't matter right now because nobody decided to take up my suggestion
"Oh, so we're pointing fingers now, huh?! The furball over there burned the Queen Of Hearts statue first"!
Now it was Grim's turn to be angry I guess
"Ffnah!! That's on you! That's what you get for making a fool out of me and G"!
A ghost flew past my face and that's when I had it.
"GUYS! WE'RE GONNA GET FUCKING EXPELLED IF WE DON'T GET THIS CRYSTAL! THIS ISNT THE TIME TO BE ARGUING ABOUT PETTY THINGS"!
Suddenly everyone went quiet.
"Whatever..."
We stood in silence. All of a sudden I looked around.
"I hear something," I said while walking slightly closer to the entrance
"...ont...ive...wo"
The boys suddenly jumped
"Wh-whats that voice"?? Ace said shivering.
"Cry...stal...ssssss...mine"!!! The voice got louder.
Duece faced the dark entrance
" I think... it's getting closer". Suddenly a gust of wind blew by
"crystal...IS MINEEEEEEEE"!!
A large black goopy monster appeared before us. It had a cute little hat but honestly, that wasn't enough to not make it threatening.
"It's here"!! Someone said.
I didn't have enough time to check before we all started running out of the cave. After running the mushrooms disappeared from my hand.
"What the hell was that thing"? Duece said while panting.
"Crowley never said anything about that!!! We gotta get outta here"!! Grim said to all of us.
Ace frowned "It's so nasty...but didn't it mention something about a crystal"?
I thought back to what the monster said for a second
"It did! It said it wouldn't give up crystals or something"! Soon the monster could be heard again, but thankfully it was a lot less loud
"So there really are crystals left"!
Grim jumped towards me and grabbed my arm "N-n-n-nope! nope! I'm a genius but I don't stand chance against that thing"!
Duece crossed his arms "But we'll be expelled without it...I'm going"
"You've got to be kidding me"! Ace angrily said.
"Duece! It's way too dangerous to do it by yourself"! I begged
"I, cannot under any circumstance. Be expelled."
