We all decided to team up and go inside the cave. the sheer dedication Duece had to not getting expelled was actually very inspiring to me. The monster roared at us as it finally noticed us standing in the dark cave. the only light illuminating was from my hand
"LEAVE!!LEAVE!!LEAVVVVVVEEEE"!! the monster screamed.
The goop attempted to slash at Duece but he managed to avoid it just in time.
"Stand back if you have no control, Mr. serious! let me take control of this situation"! Ace berated before shooting a spell at the monster.
"Wuuuuuuuu"!! the monster screeched loudly in pain.
"You okay"? I held my hand out so that Duece could grab it.
"Yeah, I'm fine..." He stood up
"Guhhhhhaaaaa"!
I turned around to see Ace getting thrown into a wall by the monster. Soon the monster headed straight for Grim
"Ffgnaaa!! Stay away"! He cowered.
The monster kept walking towards him
"I-its not working"!
I started running towards Grim as quick as I could
"This isn't happening on my watch"! I closed my eyes and thought of a dark green vine with sharp thorns. As I opened my eyes vines went towards the goopy monster, sending him back for a while. Soon something shiny caught my eye.
"There's something sparkly there"! I pointed near the monster
"Behined that thing! At the end of the tunnel...something" We all stared at the sparkle
"is it light from...a magic crystal"?
"GOOOOOOOOOOH!! WONT GIVE!!!!!" the monster was back on our trail, it started rushing towards us, ink spilling everywhere.
"L-L-Lets get out of here! Were done for at this rate"! Grim said before rushing out of the cave.
"C'mon you two"! I grabbed both Ace and Duece's hands as we ran out of the dark cave.
"GHOOOOOOOOOOOOOH" the monster let out one last sound before we made it all the way back to the start.
"Is this far enough"?
"ooooowww...what in the world was that? Noone said anything about that"! Ace said painfully.
"It defininetly wasnt a ghost of any kind! Honestly its pretty cool looking" I smiled at the group
"How in the world could you think that was cool GG" Grim frowned back at me
"Let's just give up and go home. I'd rather be expelled then have to fight that...thing" The red-haired boy crossed his arms while leaning against a tree.
Duece's face turned to anger "What?! Don't screw with me! I'd rather be murdered than expelled! There was a magic crystal right in front of us! You think I could just give up and leave"?
Ace got up from the tree. "Ha, big talk for someone worse at magic than me. You can go alone, I'm out"
Duece bawled his fists "Ooh, that right? Then stay right here shaking you spineless coward"!
I was taken aback by how fast Duece's entire personality just switched.
"Huuuuh? Coward?! Who exactly are you talking about"? Ace gave a smug look to Duece.
Grim looked between the two boys
"Uuuuhhh...Duece. Did you switch up your character"? Grim nervously said while Duece slipped out of the random 'Bad Boy' phase
"Huh? A- ahem! M-my bad. I lost my composure a bit"
I closed my eyes and thought a bit.
'What could we do....'
"Aha! Cant, we use some kinda magic to make the crystal appear"?
"As the headmaster said before, magic isn't all-powerful," Duece replied.
"But that's why we have schools for magic. You have to practice a lot to use magic" Ace said
"So pretty much your screwed if you lose your cool"
"Everyone's been using their magic all crazy"! I said
"If you're good at something then you can just let your instinct go"
'I should keep that in mind I made a small mental note
"At any rate, I'm going in there. I'll figure out how to beat that thing and come back with the magic crystal" Duece said with determination.
"Oh please. Judging from the chandelier incident and your actions so far, you're a complete idiot arent you? You couldn't even land a single hit earlier! But now 'you'll figure it out? It's going to end the same" Ace smugly replied.
'Please shut up before this all goes wrong'
"Come again? You think of..." Duece ranted about something I wasn't paying attention to.
Grim sighed "here they go again..."
All the sounds got to me. I love hearing people talk but this was too much
"Could you guys shut up"?! I screamed suddenly.
"!!!" The two boys went quiet.
"Why can't we just work together? It's not that hard"!
Ace scowled "...you want me to work with reckless Mr. Serious over here? No way". "Reckless?! I wouldn't want to work with you eith-"
"Let's PUT OUR HEADS TOGETHER" I interrupted.
The more these two argue the more time they have to get expelled, which wouldn't be good at all.
Ace put his arms down and squinted "Put our heads together...Ha!"

"You're not funny." I was right
" You have no problem saying lame shit with a serious face, huh" Duece sighed
"No way I'm working with this loser".
"guys....come on..." I frowned at them.
All of a sudden Grim spoke up with something extremely inspiring "But...I feel like its lamer to get expelled on the first day of school"
"Ah...that's-" Ace struggled to find words to say
"Yeah, that's not cool at all"! I said
"...Okay fine! We just have to get it done right? So, what's your plan" The red-haired boy said to me.
"Well...."

"You really think that this plan is going to work? I'm sca- no, nervous" Grim said anxiously.
"Don't worry about it! Everythings going to go great! You ready"? I tried to make everyone feel as comfortable as possible.
"As I'll ever be..." Grim whispered
We then walked into the cave. back to the monster that chased us out. back to the magic crystal, we needed to find. Grim soon called out
"H-hey beastie! O-O-over here"!
