Verity's POV

My whole head was banging, like a thousand drills and alarms going off in my head. I feel better than I deserve, I still should not have drunk so much last night. I vaguely remember my dad finding me, and the sick. Oh god the sick, also the dark red shade of one cheek. The smell of bacon wafted up the stairs, I pulled the covers up over my nose. My eyes were drawn to the cool orange juice on the side, I spotted the tablets and took 2 sipping my orange juice.

I heard a knock on the door, "come in" I said. My dad walked in with toast, he placed it on the side. "How are you feeling?" he asked, "better than I should im sorry I went out" I said. "You deliberately disobeyed me verity, you went out when I specifically told you not to. You got smashed and decorated the pavement with vomit im disappointed in you" he said.

I felt my face flame, "I made out with a hot guy aswell" I said quietly. He placed his fingers on the bridge of his nose as though he had a headache. "It was irresponsible and down right out of order" he told me. I looked up, "im sorry ok I didn't mean to disobey you. I was just so over being good all the time, that party ive been looking forward to it for months. Then you grounded me, I wont do it again" I replied.

"I grounded you because you got into a fight with another girl! Over a god damn boy! You went against my wishes, lied to me and you want me to just go oh sure that's fine carry on" he said his voice raising a little. "Don't yell at me, you lie all the time" I retorted. "Have some respect" he replied, "fine" I said. "Youre grounded for another week" he told me standing up and leaving.

Magenta keeps Facebook messaging me, shes probably in a gutter somewhere. She was pretty smashed last night. My dad hadn't taken away my tablet he must have forgotten I had it. I always use my laptop for the internet. I asked what she wanted, she asked if I got in trouble. "Well ive been grounded for another week so id say so" I replied, she replied back after a few minutes.

"Oh shit gurl im really sorry I shouldn't have asked you to sneak out" she had written. "Its fine it was my choice so i'll have to deal with the consequences" I replied. She didn't reply for a while after that, I pulled on my jeans and a top and washed my face. I headed downstairs to get a drink as I heard muffled shouts coming from the music room.

"Babe you know I didn't mean it, wine goes straight to my head you know that" Sauli said. I heard my dad laugh, "you think I believe that? You stopped me getting to my daughter sooner because of your own hang ups. When I called you out on it you got agressive" my dad replied. Aggressive how? I couldn't see that scrawny short arse hitting my 6 foot something dad.

"Don't be so melodramatic it was only a tap! I don't want you talking to tommy again, youre mine do you understand that?" Sauli snapped. I imagined him getting in my dads face, my dad standing there taking it like an idiot. I was in two minds to walk in there and tell him to grow some balls.

"Oh so now you think You can control me yeah? Well newsflash babe im not your god damn property" my dad said. I heard a thud as though something had fallen over or someone had been pushed into something. "Youre my boyfriend therefore youre my property, say one more thing to that blonde and you will regret it" Sauli snapped.

I heard footsteps as I dived into the room next door holding my breath, Sauli stalked past. He looked so pissed off, I slowly walked out of the room and into the office. The desk was shoved backwards against the wall, my dad was sitting at the foot of the bookcase. He looked shocked, like he was frozen to the spot. There was a small cut on his eyebrow, blood was dripping from it.

I moved forward as he flinched a little, I dabbed at the blood with a tissue. He winced but stayed frozen to the spot, "dad talk to me What happened?" I said. "I tripped" he replied, I knew he was lying because I had just heard what happened.

Sauli hadn't hit him before, I could see he was surprised but also that it obviously wasnt the first time. He clearly didn't want to talk about it so I didn't press him about it. Once I had finished cleaning the blood off I sat next to him, "you know you need to be more careful. These giant boots you wear are clearly dangerous" I said. He nodded in response but no words came out of his mouth, I heard the front door slam shut indicating Sauli had gone out.

"Come on, lets go make a cup of tea" I said standing up and shoving the desk back to its original place. My dad stood up and we headed towards the kitchen, I know I shouldn't brush this aside but my dad clearly wants that. I get he wants to forget it happened but I need to keep an eye on that.
