Veritys POV

I awoke to shouting and screaming, I climbed out of bed and walked silently downstairs. "Ive blocked his number from your phone, you are not to speak to him again, you need to tell him hes out of the band. Im not having anyone making eyes at my man" Sauli said. "For goodness sake Sauli I don't belong to you. You blocked his number from my phone why would you even do that, im not going to kick him out of the band because of you" my dad replied.

"You will do as I say, you don't get it do you? Im not going to let you get away now, im doing this for us for you" he said. "So you keep telling me" he answered wearily. "Also these tight pants have to go" Sauli replied, "whatever" my dad replied. "Good so we understand each other, im going to work love you" he said.

He walked past me and glared as I smiled sweetly and waved as he left the house. "Wow someones a fucking prick" I said walking past my dad and pouring out some juice, my gaze fell on my dad. He was sitting at the table with one hand on his head, he looked like his mind was elsewhere. "Earth calling dad" I said waving my hand in front of his face, he blinked a few times and looked up at me.

"Oh morning verity" he said quietly, "hey I heard you and Sauli arguing" I said. He sighed "you heard that great" he replied. "Dad I think the whole street did all you do is argue now" I told him, "I know. Hes gone all jealous over tommy" he said. "Dad the guy is a dick, ive told you this" I replied, "he doesn't want me to see tommy again. Hes trying to control my life" my dad told me. "Don't stand for it, stick up for yourself. Look I know you like tommy, its pretty obvious. Hes also married and straight" I said.

Later that day...

"Did you tell tommy hes out of the band?" Sauli asked my dad, he shook his head as I tried to keep my eyes on the book I was reading. From the other side of the room where I was sitting I saw Sauli was standing over my dad. "Why?" he asked obviously forgetting I was there, "because I didn't get round to it" he answered.

"Why not you've been at home doing fuck all the whole day while ive been working my ass off. Yet you tell me you didn't get round to it" he snapped. "I'll do it tomorrow" my dad replied standing up to leave. I watched as Sauli stood in front of my dad, "leave him the hell alone Sauli!" I shouted as both pairs of eyes looked at me.

"Stay out of this you nosey little bitch" Sauli snapped, "no that's my dad youre talking to like shit" I said. Sauli turned to face me, he walked over to me with long strides. "Don't test me!" he said getting in my face, "im not scared of you" I said. He raised his hand as I heard my dad shout, "verity go just go to your room" he shouted.

"Im not leaving you" I said, I shoved Sauli aside and ran to my dad. "Yeah listen to daddy" Sauli warned his voice dangerously low his eyes blazing. "Sauli stop this i'll ring tommy ok i'll tell him hes gone just don't hurt verity" my dad said. I looked up at him and raised my eyebrow, "you will ring him now" Sauli said.

"Its late" my dad replied, Sauli thrust my dads phone into his hands. "Fucking do it!" he shouted, "don't dad" I whispered. "Stay out of this little girl this is between me and your dad. Go to you room like a good little brat" Sauli said smiling. "No you aren't my dad! I don't have to do what you say, if I don't you'll only hit me like you do my dad. Well you go ahead because im not scared of you, you lay one finger on me I'll get you done!" I shouted.

Sauli flipped he stalked over to me and pushed me against the wall. "Go on then hard man hit me" I taunted, "Sauli leave her alone, shes done nothing wrong your fight is with me" my dad said. Sauli threw me to the floor, "run verity!" my dad yelled as I stumbled up and ran towards the stairs.

I heard more shouting then things shattering, a thud and then silence. I reached for the phone with shaky hands and tried to dial the police, I kept hitting the wrong buttons. Eventually I got through, "911 emergency how can I help you?" the operator said. "Id like to report an assult" I said my voice shaking, "whats the address please?" the person asked. I told her my address, "ok an officer will be with you shortly" she replied.

"Thank you" I said putting the phone down, I went to put some shoes on as I heard the front door slam shut. I ran down the stairs and out the front door, saulis car was speeding up the road. I walked into the front room, picture frames were shattered across the floor. Furniture was shunted aside and my dad was nowhere to be seen, "dad where are you I called the police" I said quietly.

I heard sirens as police officers burst through the door, "we received a call of an assault at this address" one said. "Yes that was me, my dad and his boyfriend. They argued, I think his boyfriend hurt him" I told them. "Where is your dad?" the officer asked, "I don't know I cant find him" I said. "Would you like a drink of something?" I asked.

"Yes water would be fine, can we ask you a few questions miss?" they asked. "Verity, verity lambert" I said introducing myself. I led them into the kitchen and found my dad, he was leaning on the sink. "Dad theres some officers here for you" I told him, he turned round. His eye was swollen, his lip bleeding. "Good evening mr lambert was it?" an officer said, "evening. What brings you here?" he asked.

"We got a report of an assault here. What happened to your face?" he asked. "Oh that I tripped, hit my face on the corner of the table" he said, "so there was no assault?" he questioned. "No of course not, im clumsy that's all" he answered, "this young lady here said you had a disagreement with your boyfriend did he do this?" the officer asked.

"Yes we disagreed but he wouldn't hit me, im sorry that my daughter has wasted your time" my dad said. The officers stood up and went to leave, I showed them to the door. "Hes lying you know" I said, "that's as may be but we need to hear it from him. Heres my contact number when hes ready to talk call us" he said. I watched them leave, why did he fucking cover for that little prick?!
